Responsibilities:
• Assist with the development of grant proposals, including but not limited to writing proposal narratives, developing theories of change, articulating program activities, drafting logical frameworks and copy-editing
• Contribute to the development of up-to-date and accurate context statements through rigorous desk research
• Support the development of fundraising strategies
• Analyse calls for proposals and support the team’s pre-positioning efforts
• Edit proposals and communications materials for clarity and precision
• Attend conferences and policy meetings, representing the team
• Backstop the Africa Program Development Hub and our country offices overseas on a range of logistical and administrative tasks
Qualifications:
• Degree in relevant subject (NOTE: undergraduates – juniors and seniors, graduate students, and recent graduates are welcome to apply; school credits can also be arranged for students with their institution)
• Strong writing, editing and communication skills in English
• Demonstrable interest in and knowledge of peacebuilding or international development in Sub-Saharan Africa
• A self-starting, detail-oriented and flexible approach to tasks
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and tight deadlines
• Excellent attention to detail

DUTIES
Activities Include the Following
The main task of Accounts Intern is to assist the NAFO and Accountant in Accounts and
Administration.
• Review to ensure that all payment documentation is complete & correct as per the IFDC procedures before forwarding to the accountant for payment
• Maintain the Request for Travel (RT) listing.
• Stamp payment vouchers PAID before filing.
• Maintain a systematic filing system with clear labelling, where all physical vouchers and RTs are filed.
• Attach all scanned vouchers and RTs to NetSuite Skydoc monthly
• Verify inventory register in collaboration with the Administration Officer for accuracy
• Help with the verification of workshop participants phone numbers before disbursements
• Posting Requests for Travel and TERs for staff that are not done through Employee Centre
• Maintain an updated statement of account for all Airline and cost shared payments and make such available upon request.
• Any other duties assigned by the supervisor
Required Skills
• Young professional with 1-2 years of experience
• Accounts experience in the NGO Sector is an added advantage
• Team player & able to multitask
• Strong computer skills in MS office (Word, Excel and any accounting package)
• Strong written and oral communications skills in English
Required Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in the Business, Finance or Economics fields.
• CPA Part 2 is required.
• NGO experience in the finance department is an added advantage
