Operations Officer

You will:

  • Provide administrative and logistical support to the projects and staff, including travel arrangements, arranging meeting venues and other related tasks and you indicate areas for improvement where relevant.
  • Ensure good office management, including managing office supplies, database management, arranging messenger services and other related tasks and you indicate areas for improvement where relevant.
  • Provide financial support to the projects, including bookkeeping, petty cash management, reporting, procurement implementation and other related tasks and you indicate areas for improvement where relevant.
  • Provide support to Supply Chain Management, including procurement implementation, receiving and storage of supplies, ensuring proper maintenance of records and maintaining positive client and vendor relationships.
  • Support in the financial, logistical, and administrative support and capacity building of partners.
  • Oversee daily administrative processes and procedures, ensure efficient business functionality and compliance with best business practices related to operations

Who are you?

Your expertise and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Office Administration, Business Administration or related field or equivalent experience
  • At least CPA Part 1 (Section 2) or its equivalent
  • Experience in a similar position, preferably in the non-profit sector
  • Excellent computer skills in MS office
  • Adapt problem solver and decision maker with strong communication skills
  • Strong business acumen, diligent and proactive

Operations Manager

You will:

  • Maintain strengthen and oversee effective systems and procedures for HR management, and you manage HR policies and procedures aligned with global VVOB standards and local law.
  • Maintain, strengthen and oversee effective systems and procedures for financial management, reporting and auditing and you manage finance policies aligned with global standards and local law.
  • Oversee the procurement, logistics and administrative functions ensuring value, efficiency, and compliance of the organization to local and global policies. You review and manage contracts with suppliers and staff and ensure their compliance with relevant laws and donor rules.
  • Provide strong organizational leadership (on-the-job mentoring, coaching, capacity development, change management) for your direct reports and you foster good relationships with and between partners and teams, supporting a positive organizational culture. Leading by example, you represent our organization towards external stakeholders in your field.
  • You foster good relationships with and maintain closer collaboration between country office and Head Office (HO) operations teams.
  • As the Operations Manager, you will also perform any other duty assigned by supervisors in line with the position holder’s capacities

Who are you?

Your expertise and experience

  • Master’s degree in business management, accounting, law, public admin, HR management or related field or equivalent experience.
  • At least 5 years of Operational management experience in Finance, Human Resources and, procurement, preferably for the international cooperation sector.
  • Experience in leading effective teams.
  • Good ICT knowledge of Office 365 and spreadsheet skills.
  • Language skills: fluent in English

MEAL Advisor

You will:

  • Take the lead in monitoring and evaluating project objectives effectively and you ensure lessons are drawn, documented, and disseminated to inform on-going implementation and future programming.
  • You provide coordination, technical support, and advice to VVOB Education Advisors and partners in planning of activities.
  • Ensure capacity development on M&E of the partners according to the needs of the partner and particular situations and phases of the projects.
  • Take part in internal and external working groups, task forces, related to MEAL.
  • Coordinate the collection and analysis of M&E data on the effects and impact of VVOB’s projects within the country.

Who are you?

Your expertise and experience

  • Master’s degree in statistics, education, social sciences or other relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with the development of indicators, the use of M&E tools and implementation of M&E processes, including data collection methodologies, software and analysis, preferably in international development cooperation.
  • Experience with capacity development processes, preferably in the context of educational institutions.
  • Research experience is an advantage, preferably with qualitative survey in the education sector.
  • Fluent in English.

Communication Advisor

You will:

  • Develop and implement VVOB Kenya Communications Strategy, aligned to the Global Communication Strategy.
  • Lead in the development of regular social media communication outputs (including articles, blogs, press releases, social media posts, etc). In collaboration with colleagues, you proactively and continuously update VVOB Kenya’s presence on social media, assess media environment and trends, and advise on opportunities that are available for increased exposure/ publicity.
  • Support in the development of professional communication and communication materials including visual tools such as info-graphs, pictures, videos, pedagogical graphics for the program, fact sheets, briefing documents, positioning statements, communication plans, corporate messaging, executive speeches/presentations as and when needed.
  • Provide coordination, technical support and advice to the VVOB colleagues and partners on matters communication, including capacity development of colleagues and partners.
  • Keep abreast with the latest communication trends. policy development and relevant discussions in the international education and development community and respond accordingly.
  • Coordinate and facilitate organizational events such as meetings and workshops, take notes of the same and prepare reports and follow up action points.
  • Manage and follow up on the communications and conferences planning calendar.

Who are you?

Your expertise and experience

  • Master’s degree in communication, journalism, or other relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • Expertise in developing internal and external communication and with the use of different media channels to do so magazines, social media, …).
  • Expert understanding of digital, social and other media and how to maximise impact and visibility for the organisation in the Kenyan context.
  • Strong interest in international cooperation, institutions and donors.
  • Excellent computer skills in MS office and other relevant tools & technologies (digital media, graphic design tools such as Photoshop and other graphic design software).
  • Excellent command of the English language.
