JOB DETAILS:
Recruitment of social safeguard expert under the Kenya Devolution Support Programme (kdsp) The Ministry of Devolution and ASALS, State Department for Devolution intends to recruit Social Safeguard Expert to the KDSP Secretariat to assist in the implementation of the programme which is a World Bank funded project running till 31 December, 2020. Reporting, Accountabilities and Location The Expert will be based at State Department for Devolution, and will work under the direct supervision and report to the Director, Technical Assistance. .

Job Responsibilities:
• Participate in the social risk management sensitization workshops for KDSP Secretariat to enable them to carry out simultaneous sensitization in counties on social safeguards;
• Carry out sensitization on social risk management for all counties;
• Develop a curriculum for social risk management (possibly in conjunction with KSG);
• Deliver a pilot social risk management training for all social and environmental specialists and KDSP specialists on social risk management;
• Deliver a pilot social risk management training for all social and environmental specialists and KDSP specialists on social risk management;
• Convene workshops in counties to strengthen their social risk management system for investment projects; and
• Any other duties as assigned from time to time.

  Job Qualifications:
• Master's degree in any of the following disciplines: - Sociology; Anthropology, Environmental Science, Political Science, Communication or any other equivalent qualifications from a recognised institution.
• At least 10 years' experience in any of the following areas: - resettlement Action Plans (RAP); Social Impact Assessments (SIA); Monitoring and Evaluation System Designs and Baseline Studies for development projects; supporting compliance to World Bank and other international Social and Environmental Safeguards Policies in Kenya.
• Membership to a professional body and
• Computer proficiency in standard computer office applications
