Reporting to the Public Relations and Communications Manager, the Communications Assistant will support the implementation of communication strategies for the food security and livelihoods programming in close. He/She will support the planning, directing, controlling and implementation of proactive communication activities to promote the visibility of all livelihood interventions
Duties and Responsibilities
• Plan and develop information and publicity materials, as well as implement activities designed to improve understanding and acceptance of the Society’s food security and livelihood interventions
• Gather, edit and package communication materials and publications including information, educational and communication materials for the programme.
• Development and production of the E-newsletter and the quarterly magazine.
• Assist in the documentation of program activities through print, photography and videography.
• Coordinate and ensure that content relating to food security and livelihoods programming is up to date on the website and other platforms.
• Providing assistance in the targeted media campaigns, organizing awareness workshops, trainings,
• Maintaining records of all press coverage, tracking the Society’s profile and providing assistance in the development of strategic initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications
• Degree in Mass Communications or a media related field.
• At least 2 years demonstrated experience in developing and implementing effective corporate communications programmes.
• Fully proficient computer skills and use of relevant software and other applications.

JOB DETAILS:Key Roles and Responsibilities.
• Present project information in an attractive and engaging format that can be shared with the public, media, project consortium partners, project stakeholders, donors.
• Maintain a record of content produced in relation to project documentation.
• Work closely with the technical advisors, consortium leads and program team members to conduct visits and field sites to identify, collect, capture, and document project activities in the form of case studies, including the collection of photos.
• Oversee and document activities by the groups that have received the small grants initiative and document the best practices and impact stories.
• Gather information to support advocacy initiatives such as related case studies and evidence from the field as requested.
• Support the project team to compile and finalize regular reports for various audiences and identifying trends or highlights to include.
• Produce staff spotlights and other internal communications outputs as required.
• Provide visibility and briefing material packages for all high-level/external visits, including donors, other delegations, as needed.
• Produce and manage multimedia and communications content.
• Provide multimedia and communications content for the project.
• Identify photography opportunities as well as support the hiring of freelance photographers and videographers and orienting them with the principle of informed consent.
• Manage content collection shoots as needed.
• Ensure that all materials adhere to the donor branding and visibility requirements.
• Maintain a dynamic ‘story list’ to showcase Program impact.
• Work with other project consortium partners on internal communications priorities such as newsletters and annual reports as requested.
• Produce or project manage delivery of graphic design - provide graphic design and formatting support to ad hoc donor- and external/public- facing programme documents (e.g., reports, briefs, templates. Factsheets.)
Social media management
• Create communications content, develop blog content, and create social media content and posts e.g., development of communications plan for the project.
Website management
• Proactively manage the Kenya programme web portal.
• Collect information and authentic content including media, social media, stories, and updates for the website.
• Lead on managing the project website, updating, and editing and uploading key programme documents to the Knowledge Hub (newsletter; reports; briefs) as required.
Event coordination and planning
• Provide support to planning, coordination and delivery of project events that the programme will have a presence at (virtual and in person at National and international levels).
• Where required, organize travel and logistics arrangements (including booking flights, venue hire, visa, and accommodation support).
• Support the in the administration and logistics for communication-focused visits, including donor visits.
Workshop and meeting coordination
• Actively participate in relevant programme, team and partner meetings and where relevant coordinate meetings, agreeing agenda items with team members, taking minutes, following up on actions, and preparing any presentations or related documentation as required. Provide ad hoc administrative support to the organization and logistics of workshops/ webinars/ training – lead on hosting and provide support to coordination and delivery of workshops.
• Capture communications impact for donor reporting.
• Provide support during quarterly and annual peer learning events and meetings, including case studies documentations, highlighting ‘good news’ or ‘Impact stories. and responding to ad-hoc queries from internal and external stakeholders.
Required Qualifications and Key Competencies
Academic Qualifications
• A bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, English, public relations, or another related field from an accredited university.
• Knowledge of/experience with graphic design and social media photography, videography.
• Fluent written and spoken English required.
• Excellent IT skills, including Advanced Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Excel, and SharePoint.
Experience and Other Requirements
• A minimum of 1-year professional experience in a similar role.
• Willingness and ability to travel to visit field-sites and document findings.
• Good analytical skills.
• Experience in a communications role and demonstrated experience of developing public/audience facing documents/ content.
• Experience of using social media for communications and advocacy.
• Proven ability to manage a heavy and fluctuating workload.

JOB DETAILS:The Position:
The IT Digital Channels Unit, within the Banking Systems Operations Department (Technology Division), is charged with the responsibility of Support, and Technical Operations, of the Digital Channels, and Middleware Systems within the Bank. The unit supports the Digital Banking in the areas of Mobile Banking, Card systems and Merchant Acquiring, Agent Banking, Internet Banking and International Money Transfers (Both branch based and Digital IMTs).
The role supports Fintech Services and Systems to ensure service reliability, quality and integrity; and provide both onsite and off the site technical support for the live system components as well constantly monitoring the whole system’s and integrations health status.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide 1st level Support VOOMA Platform (Mobile Money, Sopra, Application Gateway) Customer experience, Operations, Finance and other internal Sections on functionality issues.
• Maintenance of accurate and updated system configuration and documentation for all the VOOMA systems and ensure that constant review and versioning is done.
• Provide weekly system performance and incident reports.
• Work with the development teams to ensure that new deployments incorporate all the operational requirements.
• Following established change management practices by ensuring that they are well tested and are rolled out in a manner that adheres to established business processes.
• Drive attainment of efficiencies through automation of processes/activities.
• Deploy and support of BCM strategies for Fintech Services.
• Support VOOMA product development team by participating in testing and piloting new functionality where required.
• Manage all the security elements related to the Fintech systems locally (certificates, interfaces, Access to systems).
• Provide Risk Management for all Fintech Systems Operational requests as per the IS Audit/Risk Recommendations.
The Person:
For the above position, the successful applicant should have the following:
• University Degree in IT from a recognized institution.
• Professional Qualification: Oracle Database Administration Certification/ Unix Based Operating system Administration Certification/ Cloud Certification/ ITIL Certification will be an added advantage.
• 3 years’ experience in Digital Channels (Huawei Mobile Money System) administration.
• 2 years’ experience in Linux Server Administration.
• 2 years’ experience in IT Projects and Business Analysis.

2. Repackage UNFPA Somalia publications in line with UNFPA graphic guidelines
3. Improve the design, branding and layout of IEC materials and facilitate the production of IEC material
4. Design and lay-out reports into advocacy key messages on stickers, fact sheets, policy briefs, booklets, newsletters, magazines, etc.
5. Design templates for new publications and products in line with UNFPA graphic guidelines and in close cooperation with the UNFPA Communications, Partnerships and Donor Relations Specialist
6. Improve and edit artworks, photos, charts and other graphic elements of UNFPA Somalia
7. Produce creative graphic and technical solutions for use by the media
8. Arrange and coordinate press conferences, and plan events.

11. Keep up to date with the organization style guide as per regional and global standards

Knowledge and Experience:
1. Secondary School certificate holders should have at least 7 years of progressively responsible experience in media relations, journalism, communications, editing/publishing, Graphics Design or related fields.
2. Previous experience with a multilateral or international organisation is useful but not mandatory.
3. Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages, good knowledge, and experience in handling web-based management systems.
4. Experience in internal communications including communication of key corporate messages.
5. Experience in managing the production of printed material, including brochures, and leaflets, briefing third-party designers/printers to ensure corporate brand and style is met.
6. Good facilitation and coordination skills demonstrated ability to work in an independent manner;
7. High sense of responsibility. Tact, discretion, initiative, and good judgment in dealing with staff members, partners, and other stakeholders.
8. Experience with popular social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube LinkedIn, etc
9. Knowledge in photography and/or videography skills, and experience in Adobe Creative Suite software is an asset;
10. Familiarity with Mailchimp and WordPress CMS is an asset.
Languages:
Fluency in English both written and spoken is required. Knowledge of any other official UN language is desirable
