JOB DETAILS:Key Responsibilities will include:
• Leading the execution of Living Goods’ advocacy initiatives in the African region. Define advocacy priorities, targets, and strategies at the regional level with a focus on advancing policy change, raising awareness of Living Goods work, and influencing decision-makers to prioritize high-quality community health services.
• Collaborating closely with global and country-based Advocacy, Program, Business Development, and Communications teams in a highly matrixed and collaborative fashion to create a strong enabling environment for community health programs in the African region.
• Supporting country-level advocacy initiatives in our current countries of operation (Kenya, Uganda, Burkina Faso), alongside efforts in new countries.
• Focusing on strategic engagement with key stakeholders including leadership in the African Union, Africa CDC, WHO regional offices, and other technical bodies, funders, NGOs, and CSOs in the region.
• Reviewing and providing technical input into the policies, practices, and budgets of key stakeholders.
• Building and managing regional partnerships, coalitions, and alliances to advance the organization’s advocacy goals.
• Identifying and managing opportunities for high-profile engagements throughout the African region to increase visibility and buy-in on the importance of effective community health programs.
• As an external ambassador of the organization, representing Living Goods to key external constituencies. This includes both formal and informal presentations such as speaking at conferences and other high-level gatherings.
• Gathering and analyzing intel and trends, conducting situational and policy analyses, and disseminating regular updates across key internal stakeholders, including intel and analysis on new countries for expansion.
• Advising on the development of communication and advocacy messages and materials.
• Support staff to strengthen their skills and abilities in advocacy.
Essential Qualifications, Experience & Attributes
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or a combination of education and experience that yields the required competencies. Master’s degree preferred.
• At least 10 years of experience working in advocacy and/or public affairs aimed at influencing policy change in the African region, including the development of effective advocacy strategies.
• Knowledge of global health and development issues and hands-on experience in advocacy related to primary health care, health workforce, universal health coverage, and/or community health is strongly preferred.
• Ability to work autonomously combined with experience working remotely and with global staff.
• Experience developing and managing advocacy initiatives to influence policymakers, institutional funders, and other external stakeholders like Africa CDC and WHO regional offices, while forming and sustaining collaborative relationships.
• Strong analytical, writing, editing, and verbal skills for communicating with broad and diverse stakeholders.
• Effective as a collaborator in complex internal and external organizations.
• Proven ability to build and cultivate strong relationships.
• Bilingual with French as a desirable language.

JOB DETAILS:Purpose of the position
Reporting to the Head of Nursing, this position will be responsible for training Critical Care Nurses to be physically, spiritually, professionally, and personally the best they can be, to the glory of God.
Key roles and Responsibilities
• Teach assigned subjects according to the curriculum of the Nursing Council of Kenya.
• Prepare all exams and marking schemes (key) for topics taught in each teaching unit and submit them to the Department Chair.
• Evaluate students after each teaching unit using the Behavioral Theoretical Assessment Form
• Assist students working in the wards to be successful in completing assigned criteria during each placement.
• Maintain spiritual growth and assist in the spiritual growth of students.
• Maintain communication with students.
• Assist students in getting medical care as needed.
• Carry out responsibilities according to the time scheduled.
• Attend College meetings as assigned.
• Assist students in research projects as assigned by the Principal/Research Teacher.
• To act as Class Advisor as assigned by the HOD Nursing/Principal.
• Perform duties as Coordinator of the Critical Care Nursing Department.

Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and Critical Care (BScN/CCN) or its equivalent qualification from an institution recognized by the Nursing Council of Kenya.
• Valid practicing license in Nursing from the Nursing Council of Kenya.
• Basic Life Support (BLS)/Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) License.
• Proficiency in Computer applications

JOB DETAILS:Job Description
Working under the guidance and supervision of the Senior Nutrition Officer, the emergency nurse will be directly responsible for supporting in screening and treatment of clients for various communicable diseases, malnutrition, and other conditions, in the outreach sites and refer any complicated cases to the catchment health facilities.
Key Responsibilities
• Carry out triage of patients including screening for acute malnutrition during the mobile outreaches in the sub-counties.
• Conduct consultation services to children and adults during the target mobile outreaches in the sub counties in Garissa.
• Implement and evaluate individual treatment plans for patients with health conditions including children with severe acute malnutrition.
• Ensure essential services including deworming, Vitamin A supplementation and routine immunization services are provided to children under-fives during the outreaches.
• Initiate and facilitate patient referrals to the nearby health facilities including the County referral hospital for patients who require further management/inpatient care.
• Conduct Antenatal and post-natal reviews for expectant mothers and lactating women during the integrated health and nutrition outreaches.
• Work closely with nutritionists and the health facility staff including CHEWs and CHVs in the targeted areas of response.
• Ensure that all required observations, prescribed treatment and procedures are properly carried out and documented in the patient’s cards.
• Conduct regular training session for CHEWs and CHVs on basic care/management of various health conditions and follow up of patients.
• Give health education to patients and clients during the outreaches.
• Compile and submit monthly reports on patients treated and referrals
• Monitor and supervise proper usage of essential drugs/medical supplies
• Carry out any other additional duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
Key Result Areas:
• Ability to provide integrated health services and work effectively with the entire outreach team.
• Ensure timely and quality health care services to target population during the mobile outreaches.
• Facilitate timely referrals for very sick patients and children with malnutrition and medical complications.
Qualifications
• Diploma in Nursing from KMTC or recognized nurse training institution
• Be registered and have a valid license from the Nursing Council of Kenya
Required Experience & Competencies:
• At least 2 years working experience in a busy hospital setup.
• Experience in management of children with severe acute malnutrition and medical complications desirable.
• Team player and cultural sensitivity is required.
• Ability to work in hardship areas (Previous emergency experience in a remote setting will be an added advantage).
• Fluency in Somali language will be an added advantage.
