JOB DETAILS:Responsibilities
Daily responsibilities will depend on the individual's background; the office to which the intern is assigned to; the nature of specific projects and the internship duration. Duties may include, but not limited to:
• Researching and summarizing science on environmental issues (including both hard and soft branches of science and innovations in science, trends and scenarios in different countries).
• Researching environmental baselines and policy settings in project countries.
• Drafting analyses of and reports on existing scientific research and policy documents on environmental issues.
• Organizing and otherwise supporting meetings (e.g., notetaking, assisting in management of participant travel, visitor management).
• Mapping out science-based think tanks, educational institutions and other entities that are in the domain of environment and sustainable development.
• Mapping out business opportunities and science-based innovations related to addressing environmental challenges,
• Mapping best and internationally agreed environmental and social (E&S) safeguards towards the development of an E&S framework for promising innovative environmental solutions
• Assisting in drafting project documents and develop technical documentation, guidance on tools and procedures for systems developed such as (for strengthening climate services and Multi Hazard Early Warning Systems (MHEWS) in countries.)
• Assist in establishing project document repositories.
• Working with social media and assisting in the development and dissemination of communication and outreach materials.

Education
Applicants must at the time of application meet one of the following requirements:
• Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);
• Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent);
• Have graduated with a university degree and, if selected, must commence the internship within a oneyear period of graduation.
• Field of study: Degree in one or more of the sciences and /or a field relevant to the environment (for example, environmental studies, environmental economics, environmental assessments, environmental monitoring) and/or policy making (for example, law, economics, business), Climate change and services, Ocean Science and Climate Science, Meteorology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Technology , Communications (for example, journalism, public relations) Financial Economics and Library, Information or Knowledge Management.

JOB DETAILS:Under the Cytonn Young Leaders Program, the successful candidates will undergo a rigorous 12 week training, aimed at equipping them with practical and competitive skills in the company's various areas of operations. Responsibilities
1. Preparing and posting of invoices and payments
2. Keeping records and filing of transactions and relevant documentation
3. Assisting in daily, weekly and monthly treasury operations and track key treasury operational benchmarks
4. Assisting with documenting the accounting process to capture the SPVs business model.
5. Preparing and maintaining all the books of accounts. This includes assisting with month end closing processes and general journal entries
6. Ensuring compliance with taxation and any other financial statutory requirements including filing and payment of NHIF, PAYE, NSSF, HELB,VAT and WHT among others
7. Assisting internal and external auditors by providing financial information as may be required
8. Assisting in financial reporting and providing analysis for the management accounts.
9. Reconciling the intercompany balances between the entities in the company.
10. Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time
Requirements
1. A Bachelors Degree in Finance/Accounting or business related course with a minimum of second class honors, upper division
2. A minimum of B+ in KCSE
3. Professional qualification in accounting field or actively pursuing such qualifications
4. Strong IT skills in Microsoft Office Packages
5. Excellent data analytical skills
6. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, with great precision and accuracy
7. Organization, attention to details and follow-through
8. Ability to carry out assigned projects to completion
9. Strong verbal and written communication skills
10. Covid -19 vaccination certificate
