JOB DETAILS:Main Duties
• Experienced driver with a safe driving record, with hands on experience in driving a variety of 4-wheel drive vehicle makes and models in rugged terrain.
• Collect/deliver official letters, invoices, and parcels, as needed.
• Maintain the office vehicles (including ensuring that routine checks for tyre pressure, engine oil, brake fluid, radiator coolant, fuel level, battery water level, etc. are carried out).
• Maintain daily vehicle logbook.
• Ensure insurance, registration and general service schedules are up to date.
• Ensure that vehicles are always clean, including the engine compartment.
• Ensure vehicle keys are appropriately maintained and securely stored.
• Ensure that the general wear and tear of fittings of the vehicles are checked.
• Ensure that vehicles are always properly equipped with spare tyres, tool kits, jacks, wheel spanners, tow ropes, jump leads, fan belts, fire extinguishers and first aid toolboxes.
• Ensure punctuality and safety at all times of self and staff passengers
• Observe road and traffic laws, rules, and regulations
• Ensure own driving license is always present and valid during official duty
• Ensure no contraband/prohibited goods are in the vehicle
• Ensure no unauthorized personnel drive and/or are carried in the vehicle
• Abide by the authorized driving times; adhere to the laid down departure times for all locations as stipulated
• other administrative duties that may be assigned from time to time.
Desirable Qualifications
• Minimum of secondary school or equivalent.
• At least 10 years driving with experience in long distance; defensive driving skills training will be an advantage with a valid PSV driving qualification.
• Possess a mechanics Government Trade Test III is an added advantage
• Valid driver’s license.
• Fluency in English (spoken and written) with Minimum Computer skills.
• Good driving record references.
• Proactive, takes ownership, mature with a flexible personality.

JOB DETAILS:Job summary:
As part of the Global Sourcing team within the Climate Projects business line, the Sourcing Manager, East Africa Nature-based Solutions, will be responsible for structuring, negotiating and building new partnerships to develop emission reduction projects in the Africa region. In this role, you will originate and develop business with implementation partners locally and globally, focusing on nature-based projects in East Africa. This position will be a key member of the Global Sourcing team and report to the regional Sourcing Practice Lead. You will also work closely with the project development and implementation team on the technical issues related to emission reduction projects and the Investment team to assess and potentially provide finance for project opportunities.
Main tasks & responsibilities:
• Structure and source new Emission Reduction projects that are eligible for carbon finance, such as reforestation and afforestation, REDD+, agroforestry, sustainable agriculture and grassland management etc.
• Negotiate and sign Emission Reduction Purchase Agreements and other relevant commercial contracts
• Drive business development, including targeted business meetings, leading pitching sessions, financial analysis and liaising with clients
• Develop relevant documentation and financial analyses, and commercial terms with Project Partners and the project implementation team as needed to facilitate investment into emission reduction project opportunities
• Proactively network with relevant organisations, including attending relevant gatherings and conferences and expanding the existing network
• Ensure efficient and effective implementation of South Pole’s Regional and Global Sourcing strategy
• Conduct research relevant to new project leads, project developers, project owners, relevant regulatory regimes/policies in Africa
• Support coordination and collaboration with other teams within the South Pole globally in regard to project leads and opportunities
• Ensure that sourcing flows and processes (including documentation and interaction with other teams) are in line with the company guidelines
Requirements:
Essential
• A University degree in Agriculture, Forestry, Economics or Business Administration, ideally with evidence of a focus on environmental or sustainability issues
• Several years of relevant commercial experience, preferably in business development or an origination role in carbon markets and other environmental assets
• Strong experience and network in agriculture, forestry, conservation and/or natural resource management in Africa
• Strong track record in generating new business opportunities and closing deals in a portfolio worth millions of dollars
• Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and team members
• Consistent commercial acumen, business development, strong networking and stakeholder management skills
• Knowledge of legal and contract management aspects
• Proficiency with Google Suite and MS Office
• Entrepreneurial and proactive mindset, willingness to take initiative
• Excellent written and oral command of English
• National, or holder of a valid required work visa in the host country
Desirable
• Master's degree would be an advantage
• Knowledge of and experience with emission reduction project-based carbon standards, technologies and project development processes
• A technical understanding of nature-based mitigation solutions would be a strong advantage and ideally a broad understanding of related regulations/policies in numerous countries in Africa
• Good working knowledge of any widely spoken languages in the continent - e.g. Swahili, French, Portuguese
• Broad understanding of global sustainability issues
• Experience working with a multicultural and ethnically diverse global company

JOB DETAILS:Key Responsibilities:
Staff Facilitation:
• Timely facilitation of regional staff to and from work and to other official duties.
• Ensure courteous facilitation of visitors, partners, and donors to the field and other official engagements.
• Ensure the safety of regional staff, vehicles, and other road users while on a trip.
• Ensure mobilization of all resources necessary for safe and effective staff facilitation.
• Track all the regional vehicles' movement to curb late travel
• Coordinate the roving drivers and the roving function across the region.
Office Administration:
• Facilitate delivery of parcels/mail/ deliveries
• Facilitate delivery of goods from suppliers/ stores to the field offices
• Carry out office errands as directed by the supervisor
• In collaboration with the Administration department liaise with service providers to ensure quality services
Vehicle Maintenance and Management:
• Ensure vehicle cleanliness all the time.
• Keep vehicle movement log book up to date.
• Check the mechanical and operational soundness of the vehicle.
• Ensure that the vehicle allocated to you has all the necessary safety and security equipment.
• Ensure that the vehicle is serviced and maintained as recommended by the manufacturer.
• Check and ensure that all vehicle tools and accessories are in place and in good working condition.
• Undertake minor repairs and recommend major vehicle repairs.
• Keep abreast of traffic laws and ensure adherence.
• Report all vehicle malfunctions to the fleet office.
• Initiate procurement process for all motor vehicle repairs and maintenance.
• Facilitate annual government inspection of vehicles allocated to you as may be necessary.
Reporting:
• Prepare monthly and other vehicle reports and file copies of the same after approval.
• Consolidate the regional motor vehicle reports for all regional vehicles and submit them tothe National Office
• Forward all invoices, receipts, and fuel return to fleet management for payment process.
• In case of an accident/ incident, notify the fleet office and forward detailed reports and necessary documents for the claim processing.
