JOB DETAILS:Job Purpose:
The Supervisor, Safety and Security will supervise a team of security guards assigned to man the University/ Hospital compound and to check and safeguard the physical infrastructure/buildings ensuring that maximum safety and security prevail at all times.
Responsibilities:
• Investigation of security-related incidents: Keep a record of all reported incidents; Conduct investigations into reported incidents; Initiate disciplinary measures wherever necessary; Participate in disciplinary hearings
• Assist in identifying vulnerable areas and initiate actions to reduce risk and exposure as per requirements of accrediting bodies like CUE (Commission of University Education) among others.
• Assisting in the development, dissemination and testing of safety & security training programs.
• Working with the Team Leader, Safety and Security, develop security training manuals and update existing ones as required.
• Plan and conduct safety awareness training to faculty, staff and students.
• Supervision of contracted security guards by conducting briefings at the start of new shifts; review reports from guards for completeness and activity requiring follow-up
• Schedule guards to cover designated facilities and establish security patrol priorities; motivate the guard force to perform well.
• Risk assessment and facility inspection: Conduct annual risk assessment of the buildings/physical infrastructure and initiate mitigating actions to reduce risk and exposure; Conduct periodical facility inspection rounds in order to identify risks.
• Serving as part of the Emergency Response Team: Take predetermined action and assist cases of emergencies such as accidents, fire, etc.
• Ensuring usability of security equipment: Supervision of CCTV maintenance and operations
• Communicate to the relevant authorities and the Head of Security about the operations of the Hospital
• Review utilization and maintenance of security equipment
• Maintaining close liaison with the police and local administration and working hand in hand with them in matters that require the intervention of the police or the local administration
• Traffic flow management/Parking Management: Ensure that parking spaces are properly utilized and cars into and out of the compound are properly directed.
• Working hand in hand with the parking management company to manage the parking space. Ensure that incidences related to automobiles in the compound are properly addressed.
• Assist in reviewing and creating appropriate security and safety policies, procedures and guidelines
• Perform other duties as may be assigned by the department Manager
Qualifications and Skills required:
• Minimum of a Degree in Security Management/Criminology and Forensic related studies.
• KCSE minimum grade of C plain/O level training
• At least 4 years’ experience in a similar role.
• Impeccable character and Team player
• Must possess proper investigative and cognitive skills.
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Flexible and resilient.
• Experience or being conversant with JCI accreditation and audits is desired.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; Excellent telephone handling skills
• Excellent people-handling/customer service and supervisory skills.
• Basic knowledge of safety & security protocols and emergency preparedness.
• Ability to conduct training and mock drills.
• Ability to work long hours with minimal supervision, has initiative and is proactive
• Capacity to manage several tasks and requests simultaneously

Job Description
Terms of service: Permanent and pensionable.
Reporting to the Chief Security Officer.
Duties and Responsibilities will include:
i) Assist in formulation, implementation and review of the Company’s security policies, plans and security guidelines.
ii) Establish adequate security measures for staff, visitors and assets within all Company facilities.
iii) Ensure adherence to security requirements and procedures in all Company facilities.
iv) Provide direction and guidance in security threats and trends and advise on any new regulatory requirements;
v) Conduct timely audits of the Company Security.
vi) Establish and nurture good stakeholder relations in the management of the security function
vii) Monitoring surveillance equipment.
viii) Liaising with relevant government agencies in investigating fraud, theft incidences.
ix) Coordinate traffic in Company facilities.
x) Undertake periodic reviews of observations in occurrence books.
xi) Ensure cases are prosecuted and recoveries made.
Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade, one must have: -
i) Bachelor Degree in any of the following disciplines: - Criminology, Political science, Security Management or any other relevant and equivalent qualifications from a recognized Institution.
ii) At-least 8 years relevant work experience, three (3) of which must have been in Supervisory role
iii) Previous experience in disciplined forces will be an added advantage.
iv) Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution
v) Working knowledge in Computer applications.
vi) Good Communication skills.
vii) Ability to work for long hours including weekends and public holidays.
viii) Must have valid driving license.
ix) Fulfill requirements of Chapter Six of Constitution.

JOB DETAILS:Detailed Description
• Prevent unauthorized people and vehicle from accessing the aircraft, its environs and restricted and controlled KQ premises.
• Prevent unauthorized and unsterilized items from being loaded or carried in the aircraft holds and cabin.
• Provide security of staff, passenger against harassment while on duty and security of cargo, mail & courier during loading and offloading from aircraft to warehouse.
• Conduct searches on staff to ensure security of passenger baggage, courier, mail, cargo and in-flight materials before and after handling.
• Safely handle and secure lost and found property until reunited with rightful owners to enhance customer confidence f) Maintain access control of KQ premises to ensure security of vital installations.
• Ensure that contracted security adhere to SLAs and company security standards at all times.
• Gather and relay information on aviation security, pilferage/theft of baggage, in-flight stores, cargo interference; weight cheating, INAD activities, fraudulent tickets and drug trafficking to ensure revenue integrity and no unlawful interference to company operations.
• Enforce company code of ethics to ensure strict compliance by all employees.
• Screening of cargo, mail and couriers for AVSec prohibited and dangerous items and contrabands
Job Requirements
• Qualification (Minimum) Diploma or Certificate from a recognised Institution Additional Qualifications
• Certificate in a Security Related Field will be an added advantage. Years of Experience (Minimum)
• At least two years of relevant security experience will be desirable. Other Skills
• Training in basic AVSEC, DGR and SMS will be an added advantage
