SCOPE OF ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITY:
• Consolidate all USAID Nawiri detailed implementation plans at all stages of project annual planning and forecasting.
• Ensure all USAID Nawiri project management tools are fully updated and mapped to the PMM PRIME platform and used in day-to-day management of the project.
• Support all USAID Nawiri staff in Samburu and Turkana in review of the plans, progress and adapt as necessary.
• Support the field staff to consolidate activity concept notes/TOR as well as the field activity reports and share with the relevant partners.
• Conduct regular reviews of the budget with the project, finance, awards teams, and ensure implementation of the recommendations.
• Support the technical teams in the utilization of the SCI quality benchmarks during activity implementation as well as review of the same.
• In liaison with safety and security coordinator, conduct regular review of the safety and security of the SCI operations areas in Samburu and Turkana and advise accordingly.
• Work with Safety and Security Coordinator in conducting trainings for the USAID Nawiri frontline team.
• Ensure all implementation staff and Save the Children programs are compliant with the organizational policies and procedures.

Job Overview/Summary:
The Gender, Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (GEDI) Intern will serve as a key source of support to the Regional GEDI Director based in Nairobi, Kenya collaborating with IRC counterparts within the Great Lakes region (Tanzania, Burundi, DRC, CAR, Chad, and Cameroon). The position is focused on supporting IRC GEDI unit efforts with research, coordination, logistics, graphic designing, and capacity building of different staff in different country programs. The GEDI Intern will be managed by the Regional GEDI Director, who will work to building on the GEDI Intern’s individual strengths when identifying work responsibilities through the internship period.
Essential Job Functions:
• Assist in preparation and analysis of briefing notes and communication materials.
• Calendar management, including scheduling and organizing meetings/workshops when required.
• Contribute to designing and implementation of initiatives, projects, or program.
• Assist in preparation of the relevant communications materials (for example<-Country GEDI Factsheets,
• Maintain tracking system of activities of GEDI champions, and Employee Resource Groups such as Women at Work (W@W) groups across the region and contribute to their visibility.

• Implement ORAM’s livelihoods and food security interventions in the urban with an emphasis on resilience building through promoting CBO development, enterprise development and climate-smart agri-practices.
• Organize and conduct vulnerability and capacity assessments to identify clients for skills training, cash transfers, kitchen gardens and income generation opportunities and CBO capacity strengthening.
• Work closely with community-based organizations (CBOs) run by marginalized refugees in Nairobi in co-creating projects, assessing their needs and the needs of their livelihood initiatives as well as developing ideas for new business enterprises and programs.
• Organize ToT training on Business skills training and financial education and provide mentorship to the CBOs to support the delivery of this training to the larger community.
• Working closely with the consultant to conduct training on household-level vegetable production, and poultry management among other agri-related activities, supporting this marginalized group to utilize home garden techniques to promote nutrition-dense vegetables for enhanced household consumption and income generation from surplus.
