Job Summary
The Ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of finance, research, analysis and quickly able to build skill around providing accurate and data-based information on company’s profitability, solvency, stability and liquidity. You will research and analyze financial information to help company make well informed decisions, write reports and monitor financial movements.

Requirements:
• Proficient in spreadsheets, databases, statistical solutions, MS Office and financial software applications.

Responsibilities
Some of the responsibilities will include:
• Consolidate and analyze financial data (budgets, income statement forecasts etc) taking into account company’s goals and financial standing.
• Come up with and share creative alternatives and recommendations to reduce costs and improve financial performance.
• Track and determine financial status by analyzing actual results in comparison with forecasts.
• Update financial spreadsheets with daily transactions and prepare balance sheets.
• Track and reconcile bank statements & identify and address account discrepancies by comparing and correcting data.
• Assist in processing tax payments.
• Record accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Provide administrative support during budget preparation and quarterly/ annual audits.
• Maintain reports on financial metrics, cost analysis including investments, return on assets and growth rates.

Education
Applicants must at the time of application meet one of the following requirements:
• Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);
• Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent);
• Have graduated with Bachelor's degree, Masters, PhD or equivalent
• Be computer literate in standard software applications (Microsoft Office).

Work Experience
• No working experience is required to apply for the United Nations Internship Programme. Your training, education, advance course work or skills should benefit the United Nations during your internship.
• Experience in social Media campaigns is required.
• Experience in an international and multilingual environment is desirable.
• Experience in social media tools and platforms is desirable.

Languages
• English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this internship, fluency in oral and written English is required. Knowledge of Spanish is desirable.

As a Call centre Telesales Intern, you will be provided with a list of customers at the beginning of the shift. You will actively reach out to the targeted customers by initiating calls to raise awareness on Twiga's products & services and encourage them to make a purchase.

This will be a good opportunity to learn a new skill set while working alongside Call centre professionals. The internship period will be 1-2 months, breakfast, lunch and a transportation stipend will be provided each month. The call centre location will be Tatu City DC.

Principal tasks and responsibilities during this period include the following:
• Compile at least two stories from each of the IFDC countries in the East and Southern Africa region.
• Support the development of the Kenya contact database.
• Showcase IFDC regional projects through social media content consistently.
• Develop and disseminate a regular stream of communication materials documenting program progress and achievements in IFDC program countries. These include, but are not limited to, stories from the field (i.e., success stories, case studies), social media updates, project briefs, factsheets, photographs, and videos.
• Support the proper use of IFDC brand assets by staff.
• Contribute to the organization and preparation of external field and media events.
• Take high-quality photos and videos of IFDC interventions across the projects.

Duty Station
The Communication Intern shall be based in Nairobi, Kenya, but should be available to travel within the East and Southern Africa region.

Required Skills

• Degree in communication or journalism from a recognized academic institution. Preference will be given to recent graduates with an interest in working for an international non-governmental organization (INGO).
• Excellent command of the English language; knowledge of French is an advantage.
