Responsibilities
• Conduct business process improvement initiatives aimed at improving efficiencies and effectiveness.
• Act as a liaison to Business and IT to gain a broad understanding of business initiatives and their impact on technology.
• Documentation of business requirements and processes for all business initiatives and projects.
• Provide the leadership in breaking down, planning, and sequencing the business vision & strategy into technology deliverables.
• Liaise with the Business subject matter expert in the development of business architectural framework developing a clear roadmap of Business solutions.
• Lead effort to work with business leaders to identify business capability needs and IT integration.
• Facilitate the identification and analysis of the Bank’s business drivers to deliver enterprise business, information, technical and solution architecture requirements.
• Assess the current Business framework to detect critical deficiencies and recommend for improvement in line with the IT strategy and delivery priority of the IT/Bank programs.
• Function as a liaison to Business and IT partners to gain a broad understanding of industry trends and innovations, and their impact on technology.
• Provide an analysis to determine the best path for solving business problems/opportunities that may include process improvement vis a vis information technology systems enhancement.
• Provide architectural oversight of projects; ensure requirements are in alignment with business strategies and business architecture roadmap/framework
• Participate and guide on functional tests planning and execution.
• Participate in the IT quality assurance process.

Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field of study.
• At least one professional qualification in the following list: - CBAP, TOGAF, ITIL Foundation; Prince2.
• 7 years progressive experience in Information Technology with at least 5 years’ experience in at least two IT disciplines such as Application Architecture, Application Development, Integration, Micro Services and Software Asset Management in a multitier environment.

What you would be expected to do
• Gather, prioritise and refine requirements while keeping team members well informed
• Create Use Cases, Flow Charts, Mock Screens, PRDs for business requirements, user requirements, functional & non-functional requirements and system requirements
• Working on the Go To Market / Rolling out of new products/apps/automations and resolving stakeholder queries/issues
• Collaborate with cross-functional groups and assist in the entire product lifecycle from design to development to launch
• Responsible for testing of applications/solutions/web panels at various stages of the life cycle
• Working with the development team/or independently on integrations (using 3rd party tools to create mobile applications)
• Travel as per company requirements to places including but not limited to Kenya, India Uganda, Nigeria, Myanmar and Tanzania

Main purpose of the job
The holder of this position will be responsible for assisting clients and the various business units within the Tax & Legal Department in identifying opportunities for tax transformation as well as challenges that could be resolved through the use of technology. In this role, you will work closely with and collaborate with the team to understand data and information requirements as well as key processes in tax and develop systems that create efficiencies in the delivery of Tax assignments

What you will do
• Lead, facilitate, and participate in department and business units’ technology strategic initiatives;
• Work with clients to define scope, objectives and roadmaps for technology and design projects within the Tax environment;
• Generate innovative solutions on engagements in collaboration with Tax team members to enhance/renew service offerings to clients;
• Develop, design and implement tax compliance tools for the department and clients, where applicable;
• Evaluate clients’ tax and business requirements to build optimal tax designs, leveraging on technology;
• Develop/ maintain good working relationships with key client and internal stakeholders and keep them informed of challenges/ risks/ issues with technical solutions being implemented;
• Continually research current and emerging technologies and propose changes;
• Be in charge and the custodian of all the technological tools and templates in use by the business units within the Tax & Legal Department;
• Assist the business units in identifying the global tax technological tools, lead implementation/deployment of such tools and customizing/domesticating these tools for proper use by the business unit;
• Manage assignment budgets, control costs and report on exceptions;
• Actively participate in business development activities aimed at growing the business tax portfolio and revenues;
• Train and coach (classroom and on-job) other staff in the department on the various tax technological tools; and
• Execute other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications
• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/ Software Engineering or relevant field.
• At least 6 years in systems development. Tax knowledge is desired but not a requirement.
• Experience in DevOps is an added advantage.
• Proficient in report writing, presentation and interpersonal skills.
• Strong leadership skills both on engagements and in an office environment.
