Duties and Responsibilities
• Advising the county government on land use planning matters that impact the county
• Coordinating preparation of county land development plans
• Coordinating research on matters relating to strategic national projects and programmes, human settlement patterns, urbanization patterns, urban sprawl and emerging
methodologies, issues and trends
• Formulating strategies for public education, participation and engagement on matters lands;
• Overseeing the preparation of annual state of land reports
• Liaising with the entire national and other departments in reviewing land use conflicts
• Monitoring and evaluation of land projects/programmes at the county levels;
• Preparing and implementing strategic plans and annual work plans
• Recommending to the county government the establishment of planning units as may be necessary
• Maintaining a land information system to guide physical and land use planning
• Issuance of development permission and other development control instruments with the approval of the county executive committee member
• Communicating decisions of the county government development applications
• Overseeing planning and budgeting for the department
• Managing, mentoring and facilitating continuous professional development of staff

Key Responsibilities:
• Systems implementation and documentation.
• Ensure that the laid down Quality management systems are always adhered to within the production units ensuring that the product conforms in terms of quality, safety, integrity and legality.
• Investigating and looking for ways of improving the current systems / practice applied in
• production units whenever there is a change in supermarket standards.
• Factory audits implementation.
• Complete BRC quarterly audits and act as the contact person for all internal audits.
• Familiarise with all customer factory standards and act as the contact person for all factory standards compliance.
• Schedule and conduct all factory standards audit in line with customer expectations.
• Conduct packaging supplier surveillance audits.
• Keep track of all internal audits, results of past audits and expectations.
• Update internal audit data on the technical manager data base.
• Update supplier audit data on the technical manager data base.
• Micro standard compliance
• Trend update micro data and follow through with both field and pack house for improvement plan feedback on reported deviations.
• NPD and EPD.
• Actively engage in new product development, feedback and data analysis including gas data for continuous improvement, retain and maintain NPD data including NPD tracker.
• Understanding of New Product Development and looking at new concepts that can be trialled within the current HACCP.
• Responsible for development and circulation of all new product specifications with the pack houses and sales team.
• Customer complaints and claims.
• Flag out claims and customer complaints with the pack house QA and production teams
