Key Responsibilities
• Take the lead in planning, implementation and supervision of all planned HIV prevention project activities within the project area, and ensure these activities are implemented to the highest degree of quality possible;
• Ensure HIV prevention strategies are soundly implemented through supportive supervision and capacity building modalities, dissemination of guidelines and standards and implementing quality improvement and quality assurance initiatives;
• Provide overall technical leadership in the implementation of HIV prevention service delivery component of the project;
• Coordinate the development, implementation and monitoring of costed project work plans;
• Oversee the integration of the project’s HIV prevention technical approaches for the achievement of successful project implementation using evidence informed, innovative and best practices;
• Provide leadership in creating and strengthening community demand creation and referral networks between facility and community ensuring there is seamless implementation of VMMC activities;
• Take lead in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and other reports as may be required and submit these to the Senior Technical Advisor in a timely manner;
• Provide leadership on weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual project performance reviews, assessing progress in an objective manner in collaboration with C (SC) HMT, and Program officers;
• Provide leadership for the VMMC component on Quality Improvement/Quality Assurance interventions at facility level in collaboration with C (SC) HMT;
• Participate in the donor progress report writing, continuation application and quarterly review report writing and presentation;
• Take lead in site preparation for supportive supervision and SIMS assessments and ensure recommendations are implemented at facility level by project team in collaboration with C (SC) HMT;
• Represent the project in technical forums including VMMC taskforce meetings, and at sub-county, county and national level
• Provide regular feedback to senior technical managers, program and technical staff, on successes, challenges and lessons learned in implementation related to areas of technical expertise.
• Author and co-author abstracts and presentations for journals and conferences.
• Any other duties that may be reasonably assigned.
Minimum Qualifications, Experience & Skills
• Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery (MBChB) / Nursing from a recognized College/University
• Minimum of 3 years working experience in development programs with significant TA experience in public health programs; HIV/AIDS program experience preferred
• Working experience in donor funded public health program is an added advantage.
• Trainings in VMMC service provision will be an advantage.
• Demonstrable knowledge of HIV/ART management, diagnosis and treatment
• Sensitivity to cultural differences and understanding of the political and ethical issues surrounding HIV infection.
• Ability to work well with others and to develop and maintain relationships with project staff, donors, other partners and site teams.
• Ability to identify problems, design interventions and oversee their implementation.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in both English and Kiswahili.

Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Oral Health
Registration by Oral Health Association of Kenya (OHAK)/ Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC)
Basic life support (BLS) and Advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) certification is an added advantage
At least one year of relevant experience
