• The Transportation Manager assumes the duties and responsibilities as related to organizing, supervising, and training personnel, as well as, dispatching, routing, and scheduling buses. Also, manages the overall operation of the Transportation Section.
• Work under the guidance of the Finance officer to ensure the day-to-day finances of the school and maintain comprehensive records of all transactions are conducted.
Qualifications & Professional Experience
• 2-3 years of experience in transportation operations with extensive experience in a school setting
• Commercial Driver’s License
• Solid knowledge of the transportation industry and logistics
• Computer literate with good working knowledge of Quick books, Sage accounting, MS Excel, and Word
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Duties
• In charge of the day-to-day operations of the transport department
• Develops a timely and efficient bus/van schedule that allows students to be transported to and from school in a manner that supports the Learning Section’s needs
• Assesses bus routes and other transportation functions to ensure that maximum safety, service, etc. are being attained
• Responds in a positive and professional manner to parents who have transport problems/concerns

• Be a Kenyan citizen;
• Hold a Bachelor’s degree from a university recognized in Kenya;
• Have at least ten (10) years relevant professional experience, five years of which should be in a leadership position or senior management level in the Public Service or Private Sector;
• Have a proven experience in managing resources in a high performing organization;
• Possess knowledge and skills in any of the following areas: Project Planning and Management; Public Financial Management; Human Resource Management; Conflict Resolution Management; Strategic Management and Leadership;
• Have excellent communication, organization and interpersonal skills;
• Demonstrate thorough understanding of county development objectives and Vision 2030;

• Maintaining warehouse arrangement and spacing standards
• Reporting of all abnormal instances encountered at any points of inbound stages

Performing the day to day orders processing activities according to MSF protocols and standards in order to ensure an optimal running of the supported missions.
Accountabilities
• Being the contact person with the supported missions (receiving orders from the missions, asking for clarifications if needed, before dispatching them to warehouse or procurement, informing the missions on the situation of these orders via reporting or ad-hoc questions)
• Being responsible for the supply database (UniField) and the correct filing and archiving of the supply documentation in order to guarantee the availability and the coherence of supply data
• Processing all orders and requests and communicating regularly on their status with the initial clients: order received, approval stage, confirmation, RTS monitoring, backorder, lead times, … and reporting problems to his/her line management
• Being responsible to encode (via Portal) and follow-up international orders to European Supply Centers
• Being responsible to handle any product codification issue
• Performing delegated tasks according to his/her activity and as specified in his/her job description
