Job Role
• Under the supervision of the Nairobi-based DREEM Senior Project Manager Director, the Policy and Research Officer will work closely and in collaboration with the WUSC team in Kenya, the WUSC team based in Canada and the Mastercard Foundation team.

Responsibilities:
• In consultation with the DREEM and Mastercard Foundation teams, develop research and policy strategies that are aligned to the objectives of the DREEM project and the Foundation’s vision for refugee inclusion in East Africa and beyond;
• Identifies academic and research institutions and other NGO partners to build effective research partnerships on particular areas of refugee inclusion that are of common interest;
• In partnership with the MERL Manager and Senior Project Manager, coordinates DREEM research projects, from inception of partnerships to design of study and dissemination of findings to broader audiences;
• Track, research and analyze policy and research developments in stakeholder organizations and current events, and contributes to Mastercard Foundation and WUSC’s (global and Kenya) body of knowledge by sharing summaries and presenting reports, studies, legislative updates, on issues of policy and research within the displacement context;

Role Purpose:
• The Business Analyst (BA) works with the business to collect, clarify, and document business requirements (using appropriate tools and models) from which people capacity building, improved processes, and new (technology) platforms are developed.
• This particular role will support the CRM for Programmes project in the Digital Programming team, which is responsible for ensuring that we realise the full potential of digital technologies in our programming so that we deliver a greater impact for far more children.
• Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platforms are widely used across the organisation to support our work with donors and supporters. We believe that CRM could also help us to transform the way we manage our work with children. With this project we are looking to harness CRM to deliver more responsive, joined up programmes that are tailored to the needs of those we wish to support so that we can deliver a greater impact for far more children.

Job Purpose
• SHA Kenya desires to recruit an M&E Assistant to support implementation of the BaRINGO Resilience Initiative: Nurturing Greater Opportunity programme funded by the European Union and implemented in Baringo county. The 5-year project is in its third year of implementation and seeks to contribute to improved food, nutrition and income security for 60,000 beneficiaries in Baringo Kenya through: increased agricultural production and diversification and agri-enterprise development; promotion of nutrient rich crops and fruit trees, kitchen gardening and infant and young child feeding (IYCF) practises and improved nutrition and dietary diversity awareness; improved agricultural and livestock productivity and farmer level organisation; improved land and water management, integration into profitable value chains and improved access to market information and financial services.
• SHA seeks to recruit the M&E Assistant with technical experience in either livelihoods and resilience projects; and or community dryland forestry and agroforestry to implement the project. The two officers will be working on separate projects.

Overall purpose of the role:

• The overall purpose of the role is to support the Mixed Migration Centre in Eastern and Southern Africa | Egypt and Yemen with the publication of timely and high-quality research to inform policy and programming – especially in the Horn of Africa. MMC is looking for a highly motivated researcher dedicated to maintaining MMC’s position as a leading voice in migration research in the region and to participating and representing MMC in relevant research, programming and policy events and coordination bodies.
• Under the supervision of the Head of MMC ESA in Nairobi and the technical supervision of MMC ESA’s Research and Policy Specialist, the successful candidate will be chiefly responsible for analyzing quantitative data, but also collecting and analyzing qualitative data; regularly monitoring emerging mixed migration trends and dynamics across the countries and regions of focus of the MMC hub; drafting and editing a range of high-quality publications; representing MMC as needed in different forums with key migration stakeholders; lending support to reporting and fundraising activities; actively shaping MMC’s research agenda and processes in the region; and contributing the research dissemination, among other responsibilities.
