JOB DETAILS: RAN Optimization Engineer
Key Responsibilities:
• Share commercial & technical insights at cluster level.
• Deliver cluster level network NPS, CA target, CSSR, CDR, MOS, Dl & UL throughput targets and managing customer complaints.
• Manage and coordinate physical optimization of 2G/3G/4g/5G infrastructure.
• Ensure soft Parameter testing & alignment, feature test & deployment, neighbor management and best practice documentation.
• Analyze statistical KPI trends, DT analysis and carry out remedial actions to resolve emerging quality issues.
• Trigger replan of 2G/3G/4G/5G technologies in accordance with the agreed capacity, quality and coverage indicators.
• Continuous Monitoring of cluster level statistical and Benchmark drive test KPI’s and Trigger corrective optimization plans and manage implementation to completion.
• Ensure all physical changes are updated on ATOLL database. Perform routine audit on sites. Maintain standards 4G/3G/2G parameter rules on all radio database parameters;
• Manage Network NPS within cluster by customer complaints prioritization solution provision.
• Identify existing or potential E2E bottlenecks in the mobile network and resolve or escalate to stakeholder for resolution.
• Generate potential site nominals within cluster in collaboration with commercial teams.
• Automate routine tasks.
Qualifications
Qualifications – External
• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Telecommunication Engineering or related degrees.
• A team player with excellent problem-solving skills, right attitude & good work ethics.
• Candidates with Hands–on experience on GSM, WCDMA, LTE Optimization will have an added advantage.
• Practical knowledge on use of any radio planning tool and nominal site planning;
• Candidates with experience on Nokia and/or Huawei equipment will have an added advantage;
• Candidate must be willing to work in any part of the country
• Data science and coding experience will be an added advantage.

Description
• All activities in Mechanical Maintenance (which includes namely, 6 Hi Mill, 4 Hi Mill, ARP, Pickling, MCL, CCL and RFs, roll shop, RGM’s, gas plants, Shot Blasting Machine and other Auxiliary and finishing equipment’s in the complex and all utilities):
• Develop and implement the overall mechanical works strategy for the mechanical maintenance.
• Identify gaps in the mechanical processes and implement strategies to close gaps and to improve equipment reliability, sustainability, and reduce maintenance costs.
• Excellent trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills to minimize equipment downtime. Ensure mechanical installations for the plant conform to approved standards to ensure sustainability and eliminate breakdowns.
• Provide technical support by responding to requests for mechanical problems for all mechanical work.
• Ensure equipment installations are reliable, safe and in good condition at all times.
• Evaluate spare needs, identify critical spares, and place appropriate orders and monitor usage.
• Ensure proper planning of major works and resources for the same.
• Responsible for manpower engagement and training for the mechanical maintenance team.
• Timely documentation of reports for mechanical issues and technical reports.
• Work with contractors and suppliers on our maintenance activities by ensuring high quality of work and compliance with all company policies and regulatory guidelines.
• Ensure compliance with the requirements of health and safety legislation, standards, procedures, and practices.
• Conduct regular risk assessments and audits on mechanical installations and identify high risk areas and initiate appropriate corrective actions.
• Identify, evaluate, plan, implement, and manage projects to improve equipment and safety performance, reduce costs, and ensure sustainability.
• Ensure that all mechanical equipment is installed and functional to support Production in achieving their production targets.
• Following the principles of continuous improvement by investigating and interrogating processes and systems and proposing recommendations to improve equipment efficiency.
• Provide technical support to Production team when required on mechanical works also Coordinate outside contracting with in house projects as necessary
• Participating in meetings when required with the plant personnel to share information, make decisions, and agree on action plans.
• Analyze all machine failures (breakdowns, unplanned corrective maintenance) and implement corrective measures to prevent re-occurrence of failures and safety incidents. Timely Root Cause Analysis and repair of major faults and breakdowns. Implementing Corrective & Preventive action plan.
• Develop, implement, and maintain equipment planned maintenance plans and schedules for all mechanical equipment as required and in accordance with the equipment manufacturer’s specifications, good engineering practice, and mechanical standards. Creating maintenance procedures & Methods.
• Strict monitoring of KPI’s as given by management and action should be taken to achieve them.
• Special focus to identify and arrest all kind of leakages (like Hydraulic, Pneumatic, Steam, water, acid, effluents) in equipment.
• Devise and carry out condition monitoring & Oil monitoring program.
• Controlling maintenance tools, stores, and equipment
• Plan, manage and control work done by subordinates ensuring all work is well documented.
• Ensure that subordinates have the resources required to do their jobs effectively.
• Train new employees in maintenance work processes and procedures
Requirements
• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering- Plant Option
• Good knowledge of AUTOCAD software for designing.
• Minimum 8 years experience in similar position in a busy manufacturing company
• Knowledge in RCA methodology
• Posses good knowledge in identifying and managing spare parts
• Good working knowledge of machines in process industry, hydraulics and pneumatics is desirable.
• Computer proficiency especially in PM module in SAP - ERP.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings as well as use of AUTOCAD.
• Ability to work independently and exhibit right leadership

• This job is responsible for designs, installs, tests and maintains of sound, safe, secure, reliable and stable power system control and protection system to ensure achievement of a robust and reliable transmission network..
Key Responsibilities:
• Participating in the formulation of detailed system protection plans, processes, and procedures for Division staff to use and abide by as they perform their duties
• Ensuring quality controls and compliances to relevant standards;
• Implementing policies and programmes on system protection and control systems;
• Proposing for improvement and or review of standards and specifications on power system protection arising from the operations of the transmission grid protection systems and philosophies.
Operational Responsibilities:
• Ensuring maintenance of required standards on high voltage ac and high voltage dc protection and control system is carried out when due
• Ensuring effective protection of transmission and distribution equipment to support continuity of service and maintain stability of the transmission system and the interconnectors at 99.5% availability; iii). Implementing seamless protection system between the interconnectors that guarantees the operation of the interconnectors as per interconnection grid codes; iv). Coordinating design, installation, testing and commissioning of modifications and extensions of protection and control schemes in existing transmission substations as per approved method procedures and instructions;
• Ensuring control and protection drawings are updated and accurate;
• Developing specifications for equipment, tools, test kits and material used in power systems protection for procurement
• Coordinating connection, testing and commissioning of new energy meters in the transmission system
• Preparing reports on the status of system protection and control system for both HVAC and HVDC
• Preparing annual work plans for protection and control systems maintenance works and schedules protection and control systems equipment unplanned maintenance and outages;
• Leading in undertaking corrective and planned repairs and maintenance on protection and control systems for the transmission network;
• Participating in performing switch operations and isolations as per procedures and instructions during the commissioning and operational phases
• Analyses power system faults and evaluation of such failures in the transmission network and provides report with recommendations for improvement of the transmission grid stable operations;
• Participating in implementing condition monitoring of substations control and protection equipment in order to ensure monitoring of their health working conditions
• Providing technical support to other sections within system operation and power management directorate with regards to system protection issues
• Performing protection coordination studies and calculations of system currents and voltages under abnormal and fault conditions in order to determine suitable protection and control relay settings for both HVDC and HVAC systems to ensure improved operation of the transmission grid; xvi). Maintaining an inventory and keeping custody of tools and spares required for power system protection section
• Implementing technological innovations that enhance efficiency and stability of power system protection for the transmission grid;
• Leading periodic audit of the protection and control systems and recommend overhaul and or replacement of faulty and redundant systems
• Coordinating and supervising system protection and control systems maintenance teams.
Qualifications & Skills required:
• A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution
• Registered as a Professional Engineer with EBK
• Valid practising Licence with EBK; iv). Membership to IEK;
• Supervisory Course lasting not less than two (2) weeks from a recognized institution
• Fulfil the requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya 2010
• A minimum of six (6) years relevant work experience.
