Job Purpose:
Reporting to the Branch Credit Manager, Relationship Officer shall be based at the Branch. He/she will be responsible for overseeing the growth of a High-Quality Asset Portfolio within the Sector. He is responsible of customer acquisition, facilitation of loan application and appraisal, presentation of the loan requests to the Branch Credit Committee and forwarding the loan request to Head office Credit Risk for approval.
The holder of the role will on a weekly basis hold discussions with the Branch Credit Manager/Branch Manager and share progress report on their performance.
Overall review of the targets vis-a-vis the actuals on a monthly on Growth and Quality.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
• Mobilizing deposits and growth of the loan book to grow the Bank’s portfolio.
• Manage the portfolio quality of the various customers under their portfolio.
• Growing customer numbers/base
• Ensure the Sector’s policies and procedures are adhered to.
• Identifying customer potential and credit worthiness and preparing credit proposals in compliance with the Bank’s credit and lending policy
• Growth of the loan book by marketing to new and existing customers.
• Relationship management of both customers and institutions.
• Customer and Institutional appraisal.

Qualifications

Bank Teller
Job Purpose
:
Provide a consistently high quality frontline transaction service to customers encompassing the cashing of cheques and other items, acceptance of deposits and the provision of change. Understand the risks associated with the control and handling of cash and maintain effective controls to manage these risks. Maintain a high level of integrity and ethical standards.

Key responsibilities include;

Provide cash and cheque services to customers
• Serve Customers by attending to cheque encashment, withdrawals and deposits according to laid down procedures.
• Guard against fraudulent transactions by subjecting to UV light all cheque deposit, all cheque withdrawals and identity documents.
• Ensure that all items cashed are within laid-down limits and refer all transactions exceeding limits to the appropriate area for confirmation and authorization.
• Ensure that items cashed are technically correct and signed, according to customers mandates to avoid losses that may arise as a result of disputes.
• Check audit trails to ensure all entries are correctly passed and confirm the same by signing the indemnity form.
• Understand the risks associated with the control and handling of cash and maintain effective controls to manage these risks. Maintain a high level of integrity and ethical standards
• First level customer interface and interaction for queries, receipt of instructions/ requests and direction to appropriate desk where required.
• Control of daily cash received and paid out
• Adhere to all laid-down policies and procedures regarding the handling, locking away and security of cash/assets to avoid losses.
• Ensure cash holdings are kept within prescribed limits at all times.
• Balance cash daily and report any differences promptly.

Purpose
The role holder is responsible for the accounting and financial reporting of the bank’s treasury performance and financial position, monitoring from the trades in the portfolios they look after. Performs Treasury P&L and Balance Sheet Products validation, analysis, valuation and controls on Foreign Exchange, Money Market, Fixed Income and Derivatives. This role requires an understanding of the risk attributes used to measure exposure and manage these products from a financial, reporting and control perspective.

Primary Responsibilities
The incumbent will report to Head -Treasury Middle office and will be responsible for:
P&L and Balance sheet substantiation - 80%
• Daily Profit and Loss (PL) analysis and reporting.
• Preparation of market commentaries to explain significant PL movements and events.
• Reconciliation of income statement and balance sheet to risk systems.
• Price verification and analysis to ensure pricing to fair value as required for mark-to-market accounting.
• Close liaison with other areas internal and external of Finance to ensure consistent adherence to policies and procedures.
• Coordinating resolution of issues with cross functional teams, including front office, market risk, and operations.
• Performing analysis for ad hoc requests regarding regulatory, valuation, risk and operational concerns.
• Performs control check at transaction level.
• Prepare Accounting entries related to Product that the bank supports.
• Focuses on control for all Product Control deliverables.
• Involved in systems enhancement and/or implementation.
• Contributes to process improvements in Product Control function.
• Assist in regular independent re-assessment of departmental controls to ensure they continue to identify and mitigate key financial control issues (5%).

Monitoring trading activity - 20%
• Circulate key weekly & monthly MIS to senior management.
• Ensure clean audit results from internal and external reviews.
• Identify and drive process re-engineering and constantly challenge status quo for control improvement and process efficiency.
• Be part of the team in delivering continuous improvements.
• Develop/design appropriate reports to provide appropriate information which identifies the risk positions and profit and loss profile of Treasury.
• Re-engineer existing Product control processes so as to capitalize on improved systems capability and functionality.

Person Specifications
Academic qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree or international equivalent in Finance, Accounting or related field Or Qualifications in Risk management.
• CPA or public accounting experience preferred.
• ACI Dealing/Settlement or Risk certified an added advantage.

Experience
• 2 years’ experience working in Treasury environment Front, Middle or Back office.
• Audit background will be an added advantage.
• Risk management experience.
• Conversant with General International accepted accounting practice.

Skills & attributes
• Strong skill with system architecture and information management, and with all Microsoft Office Products, external market data services, emphasis on Excel as a functional analytical tool.
