Duties and responsibilities
Specific duties and responsibilities at this level will entail: -
• Collating and compiling data for irrigation planning;
• Organizing farmers meeting for irrigation participatory development;
• Training irrigation farmers on sustainable scheme management and resource mobilization;
• Setting up of demonstration plots;
• Identifying irrigation schemes for development; and
• Carrying out preliminary surveys, and implementing irrigation action plans. Requirements for Appointment;
For appointment to this grade, an officer must have: -
• Serve in the grade of Senior Inspector (Irrigation), Job Group CPSB 09/’K’ for a minimum period of three (3) Years;
• Technician Part II Certificate in any of the following disciplines; - Agricultural Engineering, Soil and Water engineering, Irrigation or Surveying from a recognized institution;
OR
• Diploma in any of the following disciplines; - Agricultural Engineering, Soil and Water Engineering, Irrigation or Surveying from a recognized institution; and
• Demonstrated merit and shown ability as reflected in work performance and results.

• A Bachelor’s degree in any of the following fields; Biological sciences, Natural resource management, Aquatic sciences, Biochemistry, Food science and Technology, Environmental science, Physical sciences or any other equivalent and relevant qualification from a recognized institution;
• Shown competence in planning and implementation of development, management and research of fisheries projects and programs;
• A broad knowledge of the Fisheries development and management policies, Fisheries Act and other related
• Acts and international conventions; and

• A Bachelor’s degree in any of the following fields; - Biological Sciences, Physical Sciences, Biochemistry, Food Science and Technology, Environmental Science, Aquatic Sciences, Natural resource management or an equivalent and relevant qualification from a recognized institution;
• Possession of a Master’s degree in any of the following fields; - Biological Sciences, Physical Sciences, Biochemistry, Food Science and Technology, Environmental Science, Aquatic Sciences, Natural resource
• Management or an equivalent and relevant qualification from a recognized institution will be an added advantage;
