JOB DETAILS:
Job Purpose
The overall responsibility of the Youth Representative will be to ensure adolescents and young people are meaningfully engaged across all result areas of the MOSAIC grant and LVCT work.

Key roles and responsibilities
• Support in the identification, recruitment, training and supervision of HIV Prevention
Ambassadors in the MOSAIC project.
• Coordinate implementation of educational, communication and social programs geared towards Sexual and Reproductive Health and HIV prevention amongst adolescents and young people
• Participate in the MOSAIC Youth Advisory Committee
• Participate on the Research utilization and Knowledge management committee for the MOSAIC to contribute towards project research development goals
• Coordinate Provision of basic training and support to AGYW ambassadors/navigators to offer psychosocial support, counseling, referral and linkage to survivors of SGBV
• Facilitate HIV awareness and prevention conversations with adolescents and young people and link them to HIV prevention services like DREAMS where appropriate
• Identify barriers to PrEP use among adolescents and young people, and support the development and implementation of advocacy strategies to address these barriers
• Work with ambassadors/ navigators to raise awareness and build community support for PrEP products and promote HIV prevention among their peers and within their communities
• Ensure engagement of AYPs in research studies under MOSAIC project

Required Qualification, Skills, and Experience
• Must possess at least a diploma in community health development, social work or its equivalent
• Must be a young person under the age of 26 years, preferably a youth advocate
• Must have worked with adolescents and young people on matters SRH and HIV at both service delivery and advocacy levels
• Must possess good communication skills with ability to build and maintain relationships with different stakeholders to enable the exchange of information among stakeholders
• Must be able to take ownership and accountability for tasks and demonstrate effective self-management
• Should demonstrate positive attitude and behavior that aligns to program values
