JOB DETAILS:
Video Production Officer - Content Production
Duties
• Supervise and coordinate the work of the video unit's staff.
• Take overall responsibility for the unit's video and photo equipment, its maintenance and service.
• Conceive, prepare proposals, write, film and edit specific video features.
• Pitch feature stories that directly relate to the strategic priorities
• Identify opportunities for content and go on periodic field missions to collect video assets for production of digital video fundraising assets.
• Shoot and edit high-quality, fast-paced short packages for use in multimedia digital platforms and social media.
• Oversee post-production work.
• Manage external videographers/filmmakers/animators/graphic designers as required.
• Oversee and coordinate the video archive system.
• Ensure the effective distribution of video content and input into the centrally produced content sharing system currently under development in HQ.
• Ensure material is tracked, and analysis is done on its performance which helps forward planning and re-prioritisation.
• Respond to ad-hoc requests that support the development of other video assets including sourcing video b-roll for direct response television adverts, short films and other needs.
• Deliver communication activities and content that demonstrate a clear strategic link with broader strategies.
• Providing technical support as required.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications Education & Professional Work Experience Years of Experience / Degree Level For P3/NOC
• 6 years relevant experience with Undergraduate degree; or 5 years relevant experience with Graduate degree; or 4 years relevant experience with Doctorate degree
• Field(s) of Education Communication; Journalism; Marketing; Advertising; Videography; Filmmaking; Fine Arts; Photography; Visual Arts; Multimedia; or other relevant field. (Field(s) of Education marked with an asterisk* are essential)
• Certificates and/or Licenses Not specified
• Relevant Job Experience Essential A minimum of three years of experience in video production within UN or a non-profit organization. Previous experience collecting video assets from developing countries or otherwise challenging settings, including emergency settings. Expertise in all areas of video production. Deep knowledge of filming and editing, as well as detailed experience utilizing both in the creation of video products. Takes responsibility for incorporating gender perspectives and ensuring the equal participation of women and men in all areas of work. Proven project management experience. Excellent computer skills, including film editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro preferred). Excellent command of English (written/oral/comprehension).
• Desirable Proficiency in other UN languages. Exposure to UNHCR-specific learning/training activities. Experience managing staff video editors, external consultants and contractors.
• Functional Skills CO-Cross-cultural communication CO-Digital content production CO-Journalism (incl. print, broadcast, photography, video, layout & graphics) CO-Multimedia storytelling IT-Computer Literacy PR-Interviewing skills (People of Concern) (Functional Skills marked with an asterisk* are essential)
Language Requirements For International Professional and Field Service jobs: Knowledge of English and UN working language of the duty station if not English. For National Professional jobs: Knowledge of English and UN working language of the duty station if not English and local language. For General Service jobs: Knowledge of English and/or UN working language of the duty station if not English.
