Urban Basic Services Videography Assistant

Task description
Under the direct supervision of the team leader, Urban Mobility, Urban Basic Services Section, the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:
• Support the Urban Basic Services Section in its communication and outreach activities through videography in the field of urban basic services with a focus on urban mobility and waste management. The candidate is expected to produce videos - which will include shooting video or sourcing footage, scripting and subtitles, in different formats including short form for Social Media as well as for meetings and editing.
• Support photography of ongoing projects in the field of urban basic services.
• Record statements and interviews with high level stakeholders on the topic of urban basic services and edit them for publishing.
• Support the development of training modules under the ongoing urban basic services related projects. Furthermore, UN Volunteers are required to:
• Strengthen their knowledge and understanding of the concept of volunteerism by reading relevant UNV and external publications and take active part in UNV activities (for instance in events that mark International Volunteer Day);
• Be acquainted with and build on traditional and/or local forms of volunteerism in the host country;
• Reflect on the type and quality of voluntary action that they are undertaking, including participation in ongoing reflection activities;
• Contribute articles/write-ups on field experiences and submit them for UNV publications/websites, newsletters, press releases, etc.;
• Assist with the UNV Buddy Programme for newly-arrived UN Volunteers;
• Promote or advise local groups in the use of online volunteering, or encourage relevant local individuals and organizations to use the UNV Online Volunteering service whenever technically possible.
Nationality
• Candidate must be a national or legal resident of the country of assignment.

Requirements
Required experience
• 3 years of experience in the field of videography and film production is required.
• Additional experience in producing urban development related videos and documentaries is an added advantage, as well as experience in working with government institutions, city administrations, academia and NGOs.
