JOB DETAILS:
Century Microfinance Bank Limited ("Century”) is a Microfinance institution that specializes in providing financial services to Micro, Small and Medium Businesses at large. However, our primary focus is to serve the agricultural sector which has largely been under served by financial institutions. We were licensed by the Central Bank of Kenya as a deposit taking microfinance institution on 19th September 2012 to provide the full range of financial services such as savings accounts and credit. Century has over 15,000 clients many of whom are being served remotely using a branchless approach on the back of a technology platform. Our aim is to pursue and unlock the vast potential that lies in the businesses and farmers within the agricultural sector using the value chain financing approach.

JOB PURPOSE STATEMENT
The role of Trade Finance officer is to provide of any form of financing that enables trading activities to take place and which may be made directly to the supplier, to facilitate procurement of items for immediate sale and/or for storage for future activities ,or it could be provided to the buyer, to enable him meet contractual obligations. This Includes LPO/LSO Financing and Contract Financing.
Trade finance also involves the discounting of Invoices for contracts/orders that have already been serviced while awaiting payments.
It is also the provision of Bank Guarantees including Bid Securities, Performance Securities and Advance Payment Guarantees to contractors and suppliers to enable them meet contractual terms. .

Trade Finance job description
• Achieve set sales performance targets in trade finance, and other financing products 35%
• Drive sustainable growth through the delivery of innovative and customized Trade Finance solutions and products to meet identified customer needs. 25%
• Ensure all income is collected, all excise duty is charged. 10%
• Carry out client appraisal/ due diligence including account appraisal, Award verification if need be and processing of CRB reports. 15%
• Maintain records of all guarantees issued internally 10%
• Prepare daily, weekly, monthly report of all guarantees issued 5%

• Team leader/player.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
• Education – Diploma/degree in business /BCom/ Finance/Social Science related field.
• Knowledge and Skills – Effective organizational skills and ability to handle work in an efficient and timely manner.
• Good analytical ability.
• Experience- At least 2 years as a Trade finance Officer
