JOB DETAILS:
The Centre for Maternal and Newborn Health (CMNH) at the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM) is an internationally recognised centre of excellence in maternal and newborn health. Our vision is to end preventable maternal deaths, stillbirths and early neonatal deaths and improve the health of mothers and babies in low- and middle-income countries. CMNH-LSTM has delivered successful programmes that aim to improve maternal and newborn health in Kenya since 2009. We have a long-standing working relationship with the Ministry of Health (MoH) in Kenya, as well as with key stakeholders active in the health sector including the Department for International Development (DFID), United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), UNICEF and World Health Organization (WHO).
TECHNICAL OFFICER (Ref 420-19)
Salary up to 3,041,636 Kshs per annum (incl. 13th month salary)
Full time, Fixed-term appointment for 2 years
Location: Kilifi county, Kenya
We are seeking a dedicated and highly organised Technical Officer to join the CMNH team, with the role based in Kilifi county, primarily overseeing implementation in Kilifi and Taita Taveta. The main scope of this role is to support the implementation of the CMNH-LSTM's programme work plan in Kenya which will require you to support engagement with relevant stakeholders to work towards developing a framework and mechanism to sustain programme interventions. .

Job Qualifications:
• The successful applicant will be educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant discipline and have a good understanding of strategies and policies for maternal, newborn and child health services with the ability to write high quality technical reports and contribute to the development of project proposals.
• You must have successful work experience in Kenya at national and county level with evidence of high-quality assessment standards.
• Clinical field experience in maternal and newborn health in Kenya undertaking duties such as the organisation of maternity services is also essential to the role. Regular travel to supported counties will be required in the role.
