JOB DETAILS:
Technical Manager / Principal Engineer water and Sanitation
Department of the assignment and responsibilities:
Technical Manager, reporting to the Managing Director, based in the regional Headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya.
He will supervise a team of project engineers and draughtsmen to produce project reports and design packages in the fields of water supply, sanitation, and solid waste.
He/she shall coach junior engineers and deploy standard methods for the production of designs and drawings.
He/she shall liaise with Seureca’s headquarters in France to coordinate expert inputs and propose and coordinate offshore support for the production of designs and drawings.
Diplomas/Specialisation:
This position demands a dynamic individual with a demonstrated ability to achieve results in a demanding and fast-paced environment.
● University degree (BSc or MSc) in Engineering or relevant Water and Sanitation specializations. Knowledge of solid waste and
energy is welcome.
● At least 10 years of work experience in developing countries - Eastern / Southern Africa, in water and sanitation programs, design, and implementation phases.
Skills required (know-how/soft skills):
Strong technical skills in water and sanitation with a proven track record in leading multidisciplinary teams and performing feasibility, preliminary, detailed design, tender documents, and construction phases.
● Ability to supervise project engineers and draughtsmen for a portfolio of projects.
● Excellent written and oral English skills are required. ability to draft high-quality proposals, concept notes, and donor reports
● Strong project management skills.Familiarity with different international donor regulations.
● Familiarity with FIDIC contract type (Red, Yellow, and more).
● Organized and detail-oriented, with an ability to multi-task.
● Must be able to function effectively in a fluid, loosely structured, but complex work environment and to set appropriate priorities, and deal effectively with numerous simultaneous requirements.
● Must be able to work independently, with minimum supervision, within the context of a larger team.
● Strong coordination skills; flexibility, adaptability, and patience; facilitation and interpersonal skills.
● Ability to work under pressure to strict deadlines.
● Analytical and problem-solving skills.
● Cross-cultural awareness and sensitivity to cultural differences.
● Awareness of gender issues.

Languages :
English mandatory, Swahili, French (not mandatory).
