JOB DETAILS:
Intercontinental Consultants and Technocrats Private Ltd, a multi-disciplinary, multinational, infrastructure engineering consultancy company, headquartered in New Delhi, India. wishes to recruit a qualified and competent person for the position of:
Technical Director – Africa
A. Minimum Qualification - B.Tech/B.E in Civil Engineering, Preferably - Masters in Highway,Transportation Engineering
B. Experience - Minimum 15 years in Design/Construction Supervision of highways. Minimum
5 years experience in the African region will be preferred. Experience in works funded by
multilateral agencies like ADB, WB, AfDB etc. will be preferred.
C. The position will be based out of either Nairobi, Kenya OR Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania, and shall involve traveling largely within Sub Saharan Africa besides other countries in Africa.
Finalization of Location will depend on the discussion with the successful candidate
D. The position will be reporting directly to the Managing Director E. The position will involve the following responsibilities on the company's projects in the African Region
1. Do a quality check on all the technical reports prepared by the Team Leaders before
submission to clients.
2. Do Site visits and carry out technical audits of the various reports in consultation with
the Team Leaders.
3. Resolve technical/manpower issues of the projects in consultation with the Engineer/
Team Leader/ associates and the respective Country offices
4. Monitor progress of projects and advise the Team Leaders on Delays. Change of Scope
in the Consultancy contract. Extension of Time etc.
5. Oversee and manage the project including preparation of any report incase of absence of the Team Leader for large durations
6. Meeting with the Clients and getting feedback on the quality and progress of projects.
7. Look for business opportunities in Africa and increase the footprint of the company in
the region.
8. Assist the Business Development team at ICT HO in finding NV partners and in
preparing Technical Proposal for the bids in the region
9. Follow up payments with the Clients.
10. Send monthly reports to the Managing Director on the status of various projects, the issues involved and steps taken to mitigate the same.
11. Any other work that the Managing Director may assign from time to time.
