JOB DETAILS:

The specific duties and responsibilities will entail: –
• Assisting in responding and attending to all enquiries pertaining to student welfare and counselling to ensure smooth adaption to School life;
• Assisting with the organization of social activities/events for students;
• Assisting in confidential and professional counselling support to students who may be experiencing social or emotional anxiety;
• Assisting in the implementation of an effective referral and follow-up process to ensure timely interventions;
• Assisting in designing periodical Anger Management Workshops for students;
• Assisting in provision of relaxation techniques and stress reducing advice for students feeling the effects of exam anxiety to avert emotional breakdown;
• Assisting in the day to day management of Student Welfare Records;
• Assisting in receiving and forwarding to relevant office enquiries relating to Student Welfare and Counselling; and
• Assisting in developing and implementing student welfare programs i.e. disability mainstreaming, baby daycare centers, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and AIDS.
Job Requirements
To qualify for this position, the applicant must have: –
• Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Counseling, or Education from a recognized institution;
• Meet requirements of Chapter 6 of the Constitution; and
• Proficiency in Computer Applications.
