C. Department Of Special Programs

1. Special Programs Officer, JOB GROUP CPSB 09 (1 POST) The Officer will be responsible to the County Director for Special Programs.

Duties And Responsibilities
• Provide technical assistance in enhancing resilience and /or Zero hunger. This includes
• experience in food security, food systems, social protection, cash-based transfer or
• nutrition programs.
• Lead, plan and manage effective and efficient delivery of food assistance and resolve daily operational issues to prevent losses, delays or reputational risks.
• Coordinate targeting of vulnerable Communities and households and identify Communities ready to transition from direct support and select new expansion areas in consultation with the relevant Stakeholders.
• Assist in preparation of distribution and work plans on enhancing resilience programming Assist in identify key variables and contextual factors that affect food security and resilience approach at County level.
• Assist in analyzing and consolidating quantitative and qualitative information from different sources to inform on program development.
• Prepare regular and periodic reports. Assist in post distribution monitoring and advice on recovery modules. Any other duties assigned by the Director.

Requirements For Appointment
• Be a Holder of Bachelor of Arts Degree in Social Sciences, Anthropology, Community
• Development or other field related Degree from a recognized University.
• Have a relevant knowledge and experience of not less than ten (10) years in food
• distribution, cash transfers, commodities handling and storage, logistics and
• transportation management.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Computer literate.
• Familiar with County Multi-hazard Contingency Plan 2021.
• vi. Satisfy the requirement of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 on Leadership
• and Integrity.
