JOB DETAILS:
Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
Program development and management
• Work with PxD’s research and product teams and other relevant colleagues to identify high value proposition of dairy advisory services and products most needed by dairy farmers in the Kenyan context, with an emphasis on effectively reaching women
• Develop a scale up strategy for our dairy program portfolio in Kenya
• Coordinate PxD dairy team members, including agronomy, research, tech, product, field workers, and supporting colleagues to successfully implement all program activities
• Develop and implement detailed work plan for all activities under the program, including identification of responsibilities for different staff who contribute to the program
• Develop mitigation plans to reduce risks and take corrective actions to remedy any deviation from the work plans
Stakeholders Engagement and Partnerships Management
• Build, strengthen and manage partnerships with local and county governments in Kenya, players along the dairy value-chain including SACCOS/Cooperatives, non-governmental, private sector, and other relevant stakeholders, including research partners
• Ensure full compliance with the donor contracts and regulations
Management of Program Resources
• Manage all human and financial resources related to the program including field staff
• Develop program budget and ensure activities adhere to planned to resource allocations
• Identify new funding and partnership possibilities and contribute to developing funding proposals
Learning
• In collaboration with PxD’s Research Director, Research Managers and Associates, support implementation of research activities to evaluate program impact
• In alignment with PxD program monitoring guidance, oversee collection and reporting of regular program monitoring data
Communications and Reporting
• Collaborate with PxD communication team to enhance project publicity and positioning via relevant media through publication of PxD materials and blogs and participation in events, webinars, trade fora, and conferences
• Prepare internal and external project reports and other stakeholders communications
• Contribute to internal communications and sharing lessons learned with other PxD dairy and livestock teams and with the wider organization

We need someone who has the following experienced skills:
• Programme and project management; planning and resource management for budgeting; monitoring and evaluation; stakeholder management; leadership and teambuilding; communication (written and oral) - with fluency in English (required) and Swahili (preferred); the ability to find ways of solving or pre-empting problems; good knowledge of experimental research techniques.
• The successful candidate must have a strong interest in and commitment to PxD's mission to leverage technology to improve the lives of the poor at scale.
• We think that people with a variety of backgrounds could be a good fit for this role, including experienced and senior research, program, or project managers.

Qualification and experience in the following domains are important:
• Higher education studies, such as a bachelor’s degree and or master’s qualification;
• Experience in managing and implementing multifaceted inclusive development programs, preferably in Kenya / East Africa;
• Experience with fieldwork and/or primary data collection;
• Familiarity with economics, statistics, and causal inference;
• Experience in effectively leading large teams of various backgrounds;
• Familiarity with use of ICT tools for development;
• Experience with initiatives involving multiple stakeholders including the private sector, civil society, governments, and academics;
• Experience in managing a development program involving a rigorous impact evaluation (RCT) component (not necessarily implementing the evaluation directly).
