JOB DETAILS:
Duties and Responsibilities Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail: -
• Coordinating the development, implementation and review of curriculaand curriculum support materials;
• Coordinate the development of relevant and quality curriculum and curriculum support materials;
• Coordinating activities of the Research Panel and Academic Committee;
• Establishing collaborations with stakeholders to ensure that curricula offered in learning institutions meets the required standards;
• Supervise the review of Curriculaand curriculum support materials;
• Collaborating and establishing partnerships with stakeholders in education;
• Supervise organization of symposia, exhibition, conferences, workshops and education days for purposes of sharing and disseminating research findings;
• Coordinating research in areas of education that contribute to general body of knowledge;
• Coordinating the development of research databasex.Ensuring update of research Information management system to facilitate monitoring of curriculum implementation;
• Supervising the publication of research documents such as research books and East African Journal of Educational Research (EAJER);
• Making abstracts of research reports for dissemination in the website;
• Initiating collaboration and partnership with stakeholders in research on education;xiv.Supervising preparation of departmental work plan and budget;
• Supervising implementation of performance appraisal system; andxvi.Mentoring and coaching staff in the department.
Requirements for Appointment For appointment to this grade, an applicant must have: -
• Served in the grade of Principal Curriculum Development Officer, KICD Grade 4 (Research) or in a relevant and equivalent position in the educational sector for a minimum period of three (3) years;
• Bachelor’s Degree in Education or equivalent qualificationfrom a recognized institution;
• Master’s Degree in Education, Educational Research Methods or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
• Computer literacy;
• Demonstrated a high degree of professional competence, managerial and administrative capability in undertaking educational research. vi.Fulfil the requirement of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
