Mandera County Public Service Board wishes to recruit competent and qualified persons to fill the following vacant positions as per the constitution of Kenya 2010 under Articles 176 and County Government Act No 17 of 2012.

DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SERVICE –ENFORCEMENT SERVICES UNIT
Post: Senior Enforcement Officer (BAND MASTER) –JG “L”
REF MCG/CPSB/ENF/2018/03/01

Duties and responsibilities

• Organizes, instructs, trains counsels, and evaluates and selects new songs for the group;
• Lead band members in participation in special assignments on official parade guards;
• Preforming for ceremonies, parades, concerts, festivals and dances;
• Day—to—day coordination, monitoring and evaluate of the county's enforcement programs in assigned section;
• Has to be a strong performer on lead vocals or an instrument. The bandleader also needs to have a good general knowledge of the different parts played by all the rhythm section instruments [guitar, keyboards, electric bass, drum kit] and solo instruments [e.g. lead guitar, saxophone];
• Ensure proper records are kept for necessary action;
• Conduct himself/herself both professionally and personally in such a manner as to bring credit to Mandera County Government and to not jeopardize its core mandate;
• Serve under the overall direction of the Assistant Director of Inspectorate in—charge of Discipline and
• Other duties as assigned from time to time.

Requirement for Appointment

• Must be a Kenyan Citizen;
• Must have a certificate of secondary Education or its equivalent,
• Certificate of Training on Music equipment playing and practice with Seven years of relevant experience is required;
• Demonstrate knowledge of music and musical instruments. Demonstrate the capability of preparing the band for a musical presentation;
• Fluency in written and spoken English and Kiswahili;
• Strong organizational skills.
