JOB DETAILS:
Senior Data Scientist
Requirements

BS/MS in Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics or other quantitative field.
• 6+ years of experience withData Science, Quantitative Analysis, Machine Learning, deep learning and/or related fields – working with Distributed or Highly Complex Datasets.
• Superb coding skills in one of the following languages: C++, C#, R, Java, Python, Scala in addition to Hadoop experience (MapReduce, Hive, Spark SQL), Databricks and SQL.
• Good knowledge of Data Structures/Algorithms.
• 6+ years hands-on experience with Big Datasets (i.e. data extraction, cleaning, modelling, analysis, interpretation, presentation) including recommending actions, and reporting results across stakeholders.
• 4+ years experience in applying statistical techniques in a business and/or marketing context using R, Python (with packages such as pandas, statsmodels, scikit-learn, tidyverse (dplyr, ggplot2, etc.)), SAS, SPSS, MATLAB. Work comfortably with large sets of data using groundbreaking tools.
• 6+ years of experience with statistics methods, predictive modeling and algorithms for forecasting, time series, hypothesis testing, classification, clustering or regression analysis and anomaly detection.
• 6+ years of experience of working with visualization tools such asTableau, Power BI, Excel or similar.
• Excellent knowledge of best practices in data analysis and data science.
• Exceptional talent in articulating your work and presenting your ideas (Excellent/Advanced written, oral, presentation & compelling storytelling skills) to influence all organizational levels (engineers, executives and cross functional teams) and drive business decisions.
• Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to convince other strong personalities of your ideas and communicate complex analysis & insights to a non-technical audience.

Other Requirements
Experience working with geospatial & time series data, algorithms and innovative libraries, statistical knowledge of rare events.
• Motivated self-starter able to identify and prioritize areas of focus with little direction.
• Excellent Planning & Organization skills with ability to balance competing priorities, long-term projects, and ad hoc requirements.
• Excellent innovative thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Experience answering big picture questions by framing the question, turning it into an analytical plan, executing and communicating to stakeholders.
• 2+ years’ experience leading teams of other data scientists a plus.
• A desire to mentor others and stay current with advances in the industry.
• Ability to thrive in "startup" environment, deal with ambiguity and drive clarity.
• Have curiosity and apply analytical skills to dive deep into data to find key insights that impact the business.
• Experience developing Data Systems data factories, data pipelines, deployed machine learning model a plus.

Responsibilities
Identify how data science can be applied to improve, optimize, and expand the organization across a variety of domains, with emphasis on long-term and strategic initiatives.
• Build pragmatic, scalable, and statistically rigorous solutions to our customers’ and internal team challenges by leveraging or developing statistical and machine learning methodologies.
• Take advantage of massive amounts of structured data to understand how our internal & external customers interact with our product and service offerings.
• Proactively identify opportunities to improve our products and customers’ experience on our apps, platforms and services.
• Analyze real-time and historical data to determine opportunities to accelerate business growth; improve our operations; and make operations as efficient as possible.
• Work cross functionally to translate business problems into ones that can be solved and informed by data analysis.
• Collaborate with cross-functional data and business teams to define problem statements, access and manipulate data, build analytical models, explain data-gathering requirements, deliver analytics insights, and make recommendations.
• Identify gaps in the operational processes, build analytical models for finding insights and supporting decision making across our organizations management and leadership.
• Design & implement statistical models such asHypothesis testing, Forecasting, statistical process control and simulation to evaluate critical business decisions and influence our Business Plans & Operations.
• Effectively communicate insights and recommendations to business leads and influence strategic decision-making.
• Lead and support various ad hoc projects, as needed, in support of Business Strategy.
• Build, Lead and Manage a Data, AI & Analytics Team and hire appropriate members to this team – as and when required.
• Drive execution through fast iteration.
