Job Description & Summary
A career within Actuarial Services, will provide you with the opportunity to contribute general insurance advice and consulting services to clients such as insurers, banks, and risk control, financial modelling, underwriting, new legislation, and the efficiency of claims or reporting processes. Simply put, you might help analyse the impact that new regulation will have on an insurance company’s balance sheet or you could be revising businesses’ projections and making sure they have adequate reserves.
As a Senior Associate in our Actuarial team your impact will be seen by:
• Taking a leading role in providing actuarial advice to our flagship client base across IFRS 17, reserving, pricing, capital management and strategic projects for insurance companies.
• Initiate and support business development and client relationships
• Providing support to our flagship banking clients on credit risk modelling, impairment provisions and model reviews/ validation
• Developing thought leadership and presenting at industry seminars
• Working with our clients to embed impactful actuarial and business analysis into their processes
• Leading tasks for various actuarial and business development assignments regulators, and third party administrators. You’ll provide advice covering solvency, economic capital, risk management, mergers and acquisitions, company restructuring

• You’ll be able deliver high quality output whilst working on a wide range of concurrent technical and non-technical assignments.
• You’ll interact with clients, leading these discussions, and you will support the senior leadership team to develop long term relationships.
• You’ll have the opportunity to work in multidisciplinary teams and with people from our network firms overseas.
• You’ll take an active role in supporting the strategic management and running of the practice, by being involved in developing our core product areas.
• You will be able to manage your time and the time of more junior staff and to ensure that projects are delivered to a high standard in a timely manner
• You’ll be involved in the development of more junior staff through on the job coaching.
Preferred skills
• Proven actuarial experience in a similar environment together with strong consulting capabilities and the ability to communicate with impact
• Keen to build your industry profile by networking, thought leadership and presenting at seminars
• Strong analytical / problem solving skills and the ability to evaluate a situation in a logical and methodological way
• Commercially astute approach to the management of all engagements
• Collaborative and enjoy working in an innovative environment
• Exceptional communication skills, with emphasis on communicating technical complexity to both technical and non-technical audience
Minimum years experience required
• 3+ years of experience in an actuarial capacity
