Kasha is a fast-growing startup e-commerce company in East Africa focused on women’s health and personal care, selling products such as menstrual care, contraceptives, HIV self-tests, soaps, lotions, baby diapers, and beauty products. Kasha’s e-commerce is highly accessible across the region and customers can order via website, app, USSD (basic mobile phone, no internet), call center or social media. On top of the consumer business, Kasha’s business includes market insight, analytics, and service offerings to global manufacturers of FMCG, Pharma and Beauty products with the aim of helping them drive their revenue and market penetration.

FMCG Sales Team Lead

Job Purpose:

The FMCG Sales Team Lead will lead a team of sales agents and ensure sales targets for the designated regions are achieved. Actively seeks out and engages customers in order to sell KASHA’s products. Provides complete and appropriate solutions for every customer in order to boost customer acquisition levels, top-line revenue growth, and profitability.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Managing agents in the assigned territory to ensure optimum sales and coverage productivity. Upholding the coverage plan while achieving agreed-upon sales targets and outcomes within the set schedule.
  • Presenting, promoting, and selling KASHA products by using solid arguments to existing and prospective customers in specific assigned regions.
  • Maximizing the visibility of KASHA products by ensuring that they are well displayed at all impulse locations in the stores and continuously ensuring a high standard of presence and merchandising for key products.
  • Building distribution of all KASHA brands & SKUs (Stock Keeping Units) in all outlets.
  • Adhering strictly to company pricing, offers, and discount strategies.
  • Keeping abreast with best practices and promotional trends, identifying emerging markets and market shifts while being fully aware of new products and competition status.
  • Making regularly scheduled sales calls and in-person contact with all major customers within your region.
  • Developing and maintaining amicable win-win relationships with key customers; building goodwill with customers and exerting all effort to help businesses resell KASHA’s products prior to their expiry date.
  • Maintaining accurate and neat records, files, and reports on customers and their geographic scope of business, and sales opportunities as well as staying abreast and reporting on competitor activity within the agent geography.
  • Maximize customer satisfaction by expediting the resolution of customer problems, complaints, and queries such as questions about credit terms, products, prices, and availability.
  • Submitting all required reports such as market-intelligent, with a key focus on pricing, product changes, promotions, NPDs, and new players in the trade.

Role Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree/Diploma in business, marketing, economics, or a related field.
  • At least 2-3 years of work experience preferably in an FMCG company with proven experience in agent management.
  • Excellent selling and negotiation skills with a strong understanding of the sales process and dynamics.
  • Proven presentation and data analysis skills coupled with an ability to build rapport quickly with both customers and suppliers.
  • High levels of competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience with an ERP such as Dynamics will be an added advantage.

Pharma Sales Representative

Job Purpose:

Reporting to the Pharma Sales Lead, you will be responsible for generating prescriptions in your assigned geographic areas by identifying leads, educating prospects on products through calls, training, and product presentations as well as providing existing customers with exceptional support. Further, you will increase the visibility and awareness of our company’s pharmaceutical and healthcare products thus maximizing sales growth.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Meet your sales targets within the agreed timelines.
  • Pitch and sell pharma products to prospective customers (retail pharmacies, health facilities, and wholesale shops)ensuring that those territories are constantly replenished.
  • Emphasize product features based on analysis of customers’ needs and technical knowledge of product capabilities and limitations.
  • Provide complete and appropriate solutions for every customer to boost top-line revenue and growth, customer acquisition levels, and profitability.
  • Promote and sell Kasha pharma products at customer locations, identify sales leads in the area allocated, and keep track of sales records and timely collection.
  • Research competitors' medications and their respective market performance. Expedite the resolution of customer problems and complaints to maximize customer satisfaction/retention.
  • Continuously keep abreast of best practices and pharma trends and feed this information back to the business to enhance overall pharma performance.
  • Analyze the territory/market potential, track sales, and status reports prioritizing territories and prospective clients as well as address problem areas.
  • Ensure product availability in your pharmacies, at least 80% of your product portfolio to be stocked per outlet in your territory, and continuous communication feedback channel with your clientele.
  • Conduct basic training in self-test kits and other pharma commodities with the support of the Kasha pharmacists to translate to sales.
  • Support the health and platform services department in creating a market for new/existing pharma products.
  • Continuously improve own performance through requesting and applying feedback from the line manager and sharing the bottlenecks for redressal.

Role Requirements:

  • You are a holder of a Diploma/Degree in Pharmacy or a science-related field from an accredited institution.
  • A Diploma/Degree in Sales and Marketing will be a distinct advantage.
  • You have a minimum of 2 years of proven success in pharma sales selling directly to pharmacies or distributors.
  • Holders of a Medical Representative Certificate from the Pharmaceutical Society of Kenya will be prioritized.
  • You possess an in-depth knowledge of the market and the changing environment of the pharma business operations.
