Job Introduction
• Our client, a catering company located in the heart of Karen in Nairobi. Their focus is on delivering exceptional products and services that are superior and distinctive in both quality and consumer satisfaction.
• They currently have an exciting opportunity for a Sales Manager within their Catering Business. In your role of Sales Manager, you will be responsible for the end-to-end development of new business opportunities. Working closely with the Chief Executive Officer, you will help us meet our customer acquisition and revenue growth targets by keeping our company competitive and innovative.
• This is an excellent opportunity for an adaptable business development professional, offering career development working directly with the CEO on the sales strategy and building the sales pipeline.
Role Responsibility
• Designing and implementing a strategic sales plan that expands company’s customer base and ensure its strong presence.
• Initiation and development of quality leads to ensure growth of catering sales.
• Cold calling prospective customers to expand client base, including seeking out appropriate contacts in organization.
• Researching and identifying new business opportunities - including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, partnerships, products and services - or new ways of reaching existing markets.
• Fostering and developing relationships with clients.
• Understanding client needs and be able to respond effectively with a plan of how to meet these.
• Constantly reviewing market activity in order to build a strong new business pipeline in line with the company strategy.
• Researching the latest in the business industry and creating new opportunities to expand business.
• Researching organizations and individuals to find new opportunities.
• Consistently meet revenue goals as set out in the business plan.
• Recognize customer needs and provide insights for improving the service offering based on interactions with and feedback from customers.
• Create and manage account strategy plans for prospects, build customer and competitor analysis and proactively obtain market intelligence.
The Ideal Candidate
• 2-4 years experience in sales/business development in hospitality sector.
• Degree/Diploma in hospitality OR related field.
• Knowledge of the practices and procedures of the catering, food & beverage and hospitality profession will be an asset.
• Proven track record of increasing revenue through new business generation, client retention and growth.
• Proven ability to manage an end-to-end sales process from lead generation, bespoke proposal writing, presentations, contractual negotiation and sales to operations handover.
• An excellent communicator with the ability to influence at a senior level.
• Excellent presentation skills.
• Strong customer service orientation and skills.
• Experience of working in a growth focused environment.
• Commercially aware with solid business development and financial management skills
• Confident, ambitious and energetic with a persuasive manner and the ability to use initiative.
