Sales Leader - Indirect Channels Africa
Job Overview:
• Manages relationships with big, most strategic indirect channel partners, with complex organizational structures and processes
• Formulates, the future strategic directions for Indirect Channel Sales (short and long-term)
• Directs and controls Indirect Channel Management activities by ensuring the Indirect Channel Sales team is adequately prepared to deliver on accountabilities, goals & projects.
• Determines and assesses the value of new developments and identifying new opportunities for Philips.
• Oversees the global developments that are relevant for the business and determines the implications for the domain.
You will report to the Market Leader - Africa.

Dimensions related to Know How;
• Broad expertise or unique knowledge uses skills to contribute to development of company objectives and principles and to achieve goals in creative and effective ways.
• Deep understanding of the business, strategies, and the market. Viewed as an expert by the company and in the field.
• Complete knowledge of all company products and services. Proposes development of new or strategic concepts or products.
• Presents and discusses objective business information to various levels within Philips and to the customers to influence directions and decisions.
• Ability to understand goods flow into Africa and influence positive outcomes for both Philips and the Partner.
• Stock on Hand, run rate, Go to Market understanding, with the proven ability to manage a seamless process specifically in Africa.
• Broadening our Network in Africa to better expand our footprint to drive growth for Philips PH within Africa.
• Systematically analyzing and reporting of sales results, expectations, market, competition and trends to make proposals for improvement.

Dimensions related to Problem Solving;
• Gives directions and guidelines for market research programs and work procedures.
• Ability to integrate resources from different areas and business segments for strategic advice, which influences choice of product roadmap and business model
• Generates proposals for new business scenarios
• Where accessibility of information does not exist, the role will develop, create and integrate the best alternative sources to increase completeness of data and analysis
• Understand the different stages of marketing strategy and product sales plan process
• In-depth knowledge of the functional area, business strategies and the companies’ goals and participates in corporate development of methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for projects, programs, and people

Dimensions responsible to Accountability:
• Directs and controls the activities of a broad functional area through several department managers within the company.
• Has overall control of planning, staffing, budgeting, managing expense priorities, and recommending and implementing changes to methods
• Manage full terms outlined in contracts with partners to ensure all contractual terms are carried out by both partners and Philips
• Secure all Contract Management Processes are completed in a timely fashion: (New Partner Process, Regular DDP, Business Case setting, contract renewal)

To succeed in this role, you’ll need a customer-first attitude and the following
• Minimum tertiary qualification
• Minimum 10 years of experience in Sales and Marketing within Electronic / FMCG Industry (preferably from related industry).
• Distributor Management experience across Africa with proven ability to develop and create partnerships
• International logistics understanding.
• Very Good internal / external relationships
• Ability to work outside the scope of the Job responsibilities
• Good experience in Trade Marketing Activities
• Good experience in Sales & Account Management
• Strong negotiation skills
• Strong communication skills verbal & written
• Microsoft Office advanced
• Presentation skills
• Excellent Team Player
• Willingness to travel extensively
