JOB DETAILS:
Resource Mobilization And Partnership Manager

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Developing, implementing and monitoring resource mobilization and partnership strategies that includes yearly targets to meet the financial needs of the Centre.
• Lead the identification of new donors, maintain and develop relationships with potential funders by strategically mapping donors and recruiting funders to align interests and impact of the Centre; being current and up to date with available resource mobilization initiatives and legal issues affecting corporate resources mobilization.
• Conduct research on potential partners/donors/alliance such as foundations, alumni chapters, trusts, societies, companies and find partners whose funding criteria match the Centre’s vision and activities.
• Develop high quality funding proposals, funder briefings and packets, funder reports, and maintaining communications with funder organizations; ensure all partners receives appropriate and timely reports and updates; understand reporting requirements for various partners.
• Oversee and manage the work and staff of the Centre’s sponsorship office – including ensuring adequate responsiveness to individual sponsors; work closely with other staff in regard to conceptualization; writing, reviewing needed documents; communication and submission of the relevant documents for targeted resources mobilization initiatives.
• Develop and coordinate resource mobilization communication materials and ensure that fundraising and resource mobilization information are up to date online and social media presence including the Institution’s web-based resource mobilization.
• Establish partnerships and collaboration with strategic non-financial partners.
• Contribute to the production of the Annual Review and Newsletter, including writing, copy, liaising with printers and designers, distribution to Learning Centre’s girls sponsors, donors and partners.
• Collate case studies, photographs and video from various school events in conjunction with the school Information and Technology department for use later and to store in the Institution’s archive.
• Aim to train and sensitize other staff members on resource mobilization skills and strategy in order to build effective resources mobilization team.
• Developing the annual work plans based on approved strategy together with expenditure and revenue budget for each resource mobilization initiatives.
• In liaison with the BOT Resource Mobilization committee, prepare annual fundraising activities; Golf, walk, dinner etc.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE RESOURCE MOBILIZATION AND PARTNERSHIP MANAGER
• Master’s degree in Social Science, Business Communication, Marketing, Public Relations or a related field from a recognized University.
• Bachelor’s Degree in international development, International Relations, Development or any related field from a recognized University.
• In possession of additional programme and resource mobilization training will be an added advantage.
• A minimum 8 years (5 of which should be in not for profit or NGO Sector) of demonstrated experience in developing fund-raising strategy and institutional resource mobilization, proposal and grants writing, reporting and subsequent management of the same.
• A proven track record of fundraising from major donors, corporate and foundations.
• Skills (Competences and Special Training)
• Proven proposal and report writing skills, funding acquisitions and grant management and evidence of successful resources mobilization initiatives undertaken.
• Demonstrate ability to develop relationships and networks that are net worth to the Centre’s resources mobilization at a strategic level with donors, partners, private sector and government.
• Proven self-driven and ability to play leadership capabilities that include training, educating, motivating, inspiring and sensitizing other staff members on resources mobilization skills and strategy in order to build effective resource mobilization team.
• Proven ability to work hard and under pressure to meet and deliver within tight deadlines and manage any conflicting and competing priorities. Be willing to work over and above normal working hours at times.
• Demonstrate excellent knowledge and experience of project management with donor funded projects and experience of grant compliance procedures for donors; being current and up to date with available resource mobilization initiatives and legal issues affecting corporate resources mobilization.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational skills and proven team-player and be excellent in written and spoken English.
• Proven Strong negotiation skills, strategic planning, delegation abilities, high performance, quality standards and execution skills.
• Experienced with bilateral, multilateral funding agencies, familiarity with other private foundations, networker with an ability to maintain a good up to date knowledge of the grant opportunities, trends in the humanitarian sector and donor mapping.
• Ability to manage resources optimally, good financial management skills as well as being able to generate budgets.
• High standard of applied computer literacy (Excel, power point, outlook, word and internet).
• Proven skills in developing and writing successful funding proposals.
• Strong networking skills with high energy, confident presenter who is able to engage people and get them to commit funding/and or to partnering with the Centre
• Strong organizational, planning and time management skills.
• Willingness to work in a cross-cultural environment with a multi-national staff.
• Demonstrate ability to plan and prioritize own workload with minimum supervision.
• Good conceptual and analytical skills and ability to think and operate innovatively and independently. Able to solve complex problems and to exercise independent judgment.
