Our client is an African regional women’s rights network at the forefront championing gender equality, equity, & women’s rights through delivery of critical information, & strengthening linkages and collaboration among women’s rights organizations. Among its projects is one whose overall purpose is institutional & operational strengthening of capacities of CSO umbrella organizations for coordinated actions at global, regional and/or national levels.
The organization seeks to recruit a Regional Monitoring and Evaluation Coordinator who will be based at its Secretariat in Nairobi, Kenya with responsibility for Africa region where the project is being implemented. The position reports to the Regional Project Coordinator.
Purpose of the Job:
The position is responsible for supporting monitoring, evaluation, accountability, learning and research in the project to ensure effective and efficient project implementation. It will also lead the evaluation of activities during project implementation, support sub-grantee Partners/CSOs, and coordinate the MEL activities (including mid-term and end project evaluation).tners/CSOs, and coordinate the MEL activities (including mid-term and end project evaluation). .

Job Responsibilities:
• Coordinate and facilitate all MERL activities for the project; baselines, studies, surveys, evaluations, impact assessments, and researches.
• Lead the design, development and implementation of a comprehensive MERL framework, system, structures, performance plans and tools for internal and external audiences that guide effective decision-making for the project.
• Ensure the project has adopted and adhere to the organization’s M&E Standard Operating Procedures and guidelines.
• Ensure project partners/CSOs are included in the relevant M&E project activities.
• Ensure quality standards are established and maintained for data management and undertake regular reviews of systems and processes for continuous quality improvement in data collection, processing and manipulation.
• Support Partners/CSOs in relevant M&E project activities including incorporation of accurate and timely reporting in their systems and processes, and appropriate sharing of output data with the project team.
• Facilitate capacity building and training of project teams and partners in MERL.
• Prepare and compile periodic MERL project reports and support project team in preparation of implementation and progress reports.
• Review reports, identify learning opportunities, review solutions and develop information feedback mechanisms into implementation processes and capacity building.
• Provide inputs for program learning and improvements, contribute to evidence based project implementation, document and share best practices/experiences, to promote learning with the team, partner/CSOs, and like-minded/peer organizations.

  Job Qualifications:
• Holder of a Bachelor’s degree in social sciences (Economics, Sociology, Development, M&E) in related field. Master’s degree is relevant field will have an added advantage.
• Five (5) years’ experience in the development sector with proven knowledge and experience in M&E for EU projects (frameworks, systems, tracking tools, data management, reporting and capacity building).
• Knowledge of relevant national, regional and international gender mainstreaming strategies and frameworks in gender and development, institutional strengthening and operational capacities of CSOs, technology transfer, advocacy and campaigns.
• IS and IT competency, especially in using ERPs or other software packages in M&E.
• Result orientated, highly self-motivated and have demonstrated analytical skills and be able to work to meet strict deadlines. Also ability to thrive in a multi- cultural environment as part of a rapidly growing and developing organisation.
