JOB DETAILS:
Purchasing Officer
Job purpose
To support day to day coordination of all Club procurement processes to ensure efficiency and timely delivery of goods and services.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Compare and evaluate offers from suppliers.
• Track orders and ensure timely delivery.
• Review quality of purchased products.
• Maintain updated records of purchased products, delivery information and invoices.
• Prepare reports on purchases, market surveys, benchmark including cost analyses.
• Maintain and update supplier information such as qualifications, delivery times, product ranges, etc.
• Research and evaluate on prospective suppliers.
• Prepare budgets, cost analyses, and reports.
• Receive purchasing requisitions and ensure they are signed by authorizers.
• Process orders after cost and terms review and approval by the Purchasing Manager.
• Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
• Collaborate with key persons to ensure clarity of the specifications and expectations of the company.
• Foresee alterations in the comparative negotiating ability of suppliers and clients.
• Analyze data and prepare control strategies for unfavorable events.
• Perform risk management for supply contracts and agreements.
• Control spend and build a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs.
• Obtain best credit facilities, terms of payments and profit margins with Hospitality manufacturers/suppliers.
• Perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking by vendors.
• Assess, manage, and mitigate procurement processes.
• Seek and partner with reliable vendors and suppliers across all specialist areas of hospitality procurement.
Academic qualifications and experience
• Degree in Procurement and Supply chain
• Member of Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM)
• 5 years experience in procurement, preferably in hospitality industry.

• A team player
• A good sense of urgency in execution of tasks.
• Good negotiation, organizational and communication skills.

Level of Education: Bachelor Degree
