JOB DETAILS:
Overall purpose of the job
• The objective of this consultancy is to coordinate the activities of the Vector Atlas team and their partners for the successful implementation and day-to-day running of the project.

Specific Duties
• The successful candidate will be expected to:
• Liaise between icipe, University of Oxford and international partners to ensure the aims and timelines of the project are being achieved by each group and collectively.
• Budget management and financial reporting.
• Communication with stakeholders: processing feedback and promoting the Vector Atlas hub.
• Organizing virtual and in-person project meetings and running the events.

Requirements/Qualifications
• A Bachelor’s degree in Biological Science.
• Demonstrated experience in vector research.
• Demonstrated administrative skills.
• Demonstrated ability of publishing in peer-reviewed journals.
• Fluency in spoken and written English, with good and effective communication skills.
• Able to work in a multicultural environment and able to interact effectively with partners.

Core Competencies
• Successful project management: clear communication between team and partners to ensure targets are met and effective collaboration between all groups.
• Budget management of icipe sub-award and overall project finances.
• Stakeholder engagement to develop Vector Atlas network and inform platform development.
• Organization and implementation of virtual and in-person project meetings.
• Strong people skills and ability to manage and motivate teams to produce desired results.
• Dependable with a keen sense of timeliness and orientation for results. Ability to work within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects/tasks.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in a cross-cultural setting
