JOB DETAILS:

Academic Qualifications: Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent, PhD preferably) in urban management, sociology and related field that is relevant for sustainable urban and regional development is required. A first-level university degree in urban management, sociology or related area with additional two years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.

Experience:
• 5 years' post qualification experience, with focus on land governance, project management in developing countries in general is required.
• Experience in the coordination and drafting of project reports is required. Strong writing skills and good record of publications on relevant areas and ability to package information for a variety of audiences such as researchers, programmers, policy makers and members of the public is desirable.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills desirable.
• Experience in areas of urban development and land governance with experience in developing countries desirable. Some level of knowledge of and experience working with the SDGs is highly desirable.

Language: English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this consultancy, professional proficiency in oral and written English is required.
