Context
Global Environment & Technology Foundation (GETF) is a non-profit organization with over 30 years of experience building and administering public-private partnerships for social impact at scale. Project Last Mile (PLM) is a leading partnership administered by GETF. PLM believes life-saving medicines should be in reach of every person in Africa. This pioneering cross-sector partnership leverages best practices from The Coca-Cola System to help lifesaving medicines go the “last mile” to communities in Africa. We collaborate with leading global health donors, regional Coca-Cola bottlers, and suppliers in participating countries to build public health systems capacity in supply chain and strategic marketing by sharing the expertise and network of the Coca-Cola system with the local Ministry of Health.
In Kenya, PLM is partnering with Amref Health –the largest Africa-based international Non-Governmental Organization (INGO) that manages global health programs across the African continent. Through this partnership, PLM and Amref aim to sustain the gains made in the COVID-19 response efforts and expand vaccine coverage, enhance COVID-19 control, and contribute to accelerated economic recovery in the targeted regions. The project will focus on four key areas: 1) strengthening COVID-19 vaccine planning 2) demand creation 3) health workforce strengthening, and 4) increasing access via decentralized administration points in one sub-county of Nairobi, Kenya. PLM will lead the development of Strategic Marketing and Cold Chain Equipment strategies to support the goal of making vaccines more accessible and increasing vaccine demand.
Project Last Mile is seeking a versatile and driven Project Coordinator to support this project in Kenya. We are looking for a highly motivated, collaborative, and agile individual, who can function at both leadership and operational level to ensure that the country project is effectively executed. • Communicate and report on the project performance and potential risks throughout the project.
