Job summary
The Ideal Candidate for the role should have extensive experience in vendor management, sourcing farm produce, a great deal of interaction, and relationship building with key suppliers.
Duties and responsibilities
• Setup a systematic, process-driven approach to procurement for new categories including
• lead-time tracking, stock-level management, working capital management, and creation, tracking, and management of Purchase Orders
• Maintain inventory stock records, determine appropriate stock levels, receive and check-in supplies
• Actively manage and monitor the procurement and delivery of goods to the warehouses, to ensure KPIs are being met and revised regularly
• Proactively identify opportunities that will align supplier needs with the organizational goals
• Manage and implement strategies for procuring, and distributing goods to maintain stock levels
• Attend sales analysis vs forecast, highlighting exceptions and making suggestions
• Ensure demand plans accurately reflect known sales activities and stock availability
• Provide input on potential sales for new products by analyzing similar existing products to identify the fit within the range.
• Participate in new product (categories, SKUs) development projects and launches into the market
• Conduct regular market reviews, working in alignment with sales and supply planning. Propose and execute measures to improve the quality of the forecasts where appropriate
• Joint ownership of S&OP meetings alongside sales – focus on forecast accuracy, supply chain risks and opportunities, and inventory management.
• Create and provide trend analysis by category/SKU/Product
• Analyzing demand and inventory, ensuring they are always aligned
• Adopt our philosophy of continuous improvement, participate in process reviews and help to drive change within your area.
• Continuous process improvement to ensure wastage and shrinkage is always at acceptable levels
• Needs to master products seasonality enough to anticipate price changes and product challenges including supply chain that would impact sales
• Understand market dynamics and competition to proactively give long and short term strategies for moving product
Minimum requirements
• A bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business administration, Procurement,
• Agriculture, agribusiness, or any Agriculture and or business-related course.
• An understanding of fresh produce dynamics and sound business judgment
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
• At least 5 years of experience as a project manager within the vegetables, fruits, and FMCG industry
• Experience building partnerships & managing stakeholders
• Excellent organization & time management skills
• Strong leadership skills and ability to manage a diverse staff
• Ability to thrive in an environment of fast growth and ambiguity
• Exceptional multi-tasking skills with the ability to manage multiple end-to-end project lifecycles
• Strong project management and relationship-building skills
