Education
• Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in business administration, public administration, commerce, engineering, law or a related field is required. A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
Job - Specific Qualification
• Professional certification in supply chain such as Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS level 4) or equivalent is desirable.
Work Experience
• A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in procurement, contract
• management, contract administration or logistics and supply chain management or related area is required.
• A minimum of two years of experience in conducting international tender exercises is desirable.
• Advanced knowledge in the use of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems or a SAP enterprise software system, Business Intelligence (BI) Analytical tool and Transportation Management (TM or similar Track and Trace applications) is desirable.
• Experience in supervising teams is desirable.
• Experience in conducting procurement at the international level for an intergovernmental organization, government organization, or large multi-national organization is desirable.
Languages
• English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the post advertised, fluency in English is required.
