JOB DETAILS:
Procurement Category Manager
Your responsibilities
• Ensure Health & Safety is an integral part of all job duties and is implemented in accordance with Health & Safety standards and advisories
• Support the development of category sourcing plans to address full spend coverage for the assigned categories.
• Manage the Procurement of goods and services in accordance with local and global category strategy, as well as applicable policies, procedures and specifications.
• Act as the point of contact between global and regional Category Management and operations in the country.
• Implement savings opportunities and initiate individual projects and initiatives for assigned categories.
• Support the category negotiating process for processes, quality levels and prices.
• Co-ordinate the implementation of the procurement plans with the procurement operations team.
• Drive the RFx process as defined by the category strategy.
• Collaborate with the procurement operations team to create purchase orders for supplies, equipment and services.
• Ensure all suppliers that require contracts in line with the procurement policy guidelines have valid contracts.
• Utilization of the relevant online procurement tools as required i.e. Contracts Management, Supplier Claim Management and Price Change Request (PCR).

• Eliminate deviations to the procurement process
• Timely and effective closure of audit findings

Your experience
This job may be for you if you have:
• A university degree in a Technical field. Advanced degree will be an added advantage.
• Professional Procurement qualification highly preferred
• Minimum 2 3 years in procurement category management and sourcing, specifically in the areas of equipment, spares and maintenance /MRO. Experience in sourcing of mining services will be an added advantage.
• Demonstrated performance in implementing Category initiatives in local operations.
• Demonstrated ability to track progress of cost reduction initiatives drive and energy to ensure that a challenging benefits agenda is successfully delivered
• Knowledge of cement manufacturing industry and products.
• Application of TCO concepts.
• Working knowledge of materials and services specifications.
• Business Acumen: Commercial law and financial understanding
• Unquestionable integrity
