Principal Systems Auditor, JOB GRADE KSC 5 (1 post)

Job Description
Terms of service: Permanent and pensionable.

Reporting to the Manager, Internal Audit and Risk Assurance.

The duties and responsibilities will include:-
i) Participation in the overall development and delivery of the audit plan
ii) Conduct Internal Systems risk assessments to identify inherent and potential risks and recommend mitigation measures.
iii) Undertake business application systems review, Database reviews, Information System security reviews, IS development/acquisition reviews, Internal Systems processes review etc.
iv) Execute Internal Systems audit assignments and well referenced working papers and evidence for all assignments undertaken.
v) Perform information control reviews to include system development standards, operating procedures, system security, programming controls, communication controls, backup and disaster recovery, and system maintenance.
vi) Assist in provision of quality assurance in technology acquisition, implementation and sign off of Information System projects.
vii) Track recommendations arising from audits and work with stakeholders to ensure implementation of audit actions.
viii) Assist in extraction and analysis of audit data using data analytical tools to improve IA department’s efficiency and productivity.
ix) Review security control frameworks/guidelines to ensure consistent application of security controls
x) Advise on trends in technology security and provide input to mitigate emerging threats

Requirements for Appointment.

i) Degree in Computer Science, IT, Business Information Systems (or related technical / business field) from a recognized university.
ii) Eight (8) years relevant work experience in ERP system audit (Oracle, SAP) and DB information
iii) Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution.
iv) Be a certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).
v) Be a certified Public Accountant (CPA-K).
vi) Proficient in computer software and applications (e.g., ACL, TeamMate, Idea, SQL, Ms Office etc.)
vii) Good interpersonal skills.
viii) Fulfill requirements of Chapter Six of Constitution.
