Job Descriptions
• Conducting research and disseminating findings related to nomadic education in Kenya;
• Formulating and implementing advocacy strategic plans and programmes in accordance with the Council’s mandate
• Creating awareness of basic education in nomadic areas;
• Improving the capacity of Boards of Management, head teachers, teachers and other stakeholders in the target areas;
• Organizing and facilitating sensitization workshops, meetings, and sessions on the mandate of the Council and amongst stakeholders;
• Developing and distributing publication of the organization to the stakeholders;
• Liaising with other organizations involved in matters of advocacy with a view to conducting joint initiatives;
• Designing template to capture the necessary key information concerning nomadic education;
• Ensuring establishment and documentation of a data bank and provision of reliable statistic of nomads and their school-aged children;
• Analyzing data relating to the basic education of marginalized and nomadic communities;
• Generating and identifying research intelligence to inform policy;
• Training and mentoring research officers; and
• Identifying innovative ideas through research which have practical significance to the Council’s mandate.

Person Descriptions
• Must have a Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: – Education, Statistics, Economics, Community Development, Anthropology, Sociology, Psychology or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
• Must have served in the grade of Senior Research Officer or in a comparable and relevant position in the Public Service for a minimum period of three (3) years;
• Proficiency in computer
