JOB DETAILS:
Portfolio Manager (CICAM)

PURPOSE:
Responsible for construction and management of client portfolios. He/she is also responsible for client reporting and making investment decisions within an investment committee.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Evaluate and review asset allocation and other investment decisions on an ongoing basis to ensure optimal performance;
• Attend client’s (existing) meetings to report on portfolio performance and present investment strategy for approval;
• Monitor, re-balance and re-align the various portfolios to ensure adherence to client mandates, internal house view and regulatory framework;
• Develop a list of approved counterparties for vetting as part of an investment committee;
• Conduct portfolio analysis to make recommendation regarding asset allocation;
• Conduct research on viable opportunities and develop reports on investment analysis to facilitate the investment decision process;
• Train and orient new clients and assist all members to enhance their knowledge through appropriate educational opportunities;
• Participate in the development of new investment products and
• Participate in new client tenders and make presentations where necessary.

PERSON SPECIFICATIONS
Academic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Statistics, Commerce, Applied Maths or in a related field.

Professional Qualifications
• CFA, ICIFA,

Experience
• Minimum of eight (8) years’ relevant experience, four (4) of which at supervisory level
