Partnerships and Investment Lead (Kenya)
Traidcraft Exchange’s vision: A world without poverty where all trade is fair.
We’re a UK-based NGO with offices in Bangladesh, India, and Kenya from which we run projects across South Asia and Africa.
With a strong commitment to locally-led development – with communities we tackle injustices in three key ways:
• By leading development projects working with vulnerable farmers, artisans, and workers
• Addressing systemic injustices by advocating in UK government and internationally to change the rules which govern trade - promoting equality of opportunity for those at the bottom of the supply chain
• Focusing on inclusion and access to the benefits of trade for women, people with disabilities, ethnic minorities, and in a South Asian context, those discriminated against because of their caste

Over the last 35 years we’ve supported over 3 million people directly and countless millions more through the laws and policy changes brought about through the campaigns we’ve led.
During this time, we’ve seen wages rise for the poorest, better health and wellbeing for those at the bottom of the supply chain, more inclusion for minority groups and their rights and therefore the rights of their children, protected.
It is an exciting time to join our organisation as we have recently made a commitment to become more locally led. We are currently testing participatory grant-making in Africa and more pilots will be rolled out in South Asia in the coming months.
