JOB DETAILS:
Ophthalmic Nurse
Purpose
To provide holistic ophthalmic nursing services to both inpatient and out patients within the hospital
General Responsibility
1. Performing initial screening on Ocular patients
2. Collecting medical histories
3. Assist in eye exams
4. Assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients with ocular diseases and conditions
5. Ensure that all required observations, prescribed treatment, and procedures are properly carried out and documented on patient’s charts/ files.
6. Maintaining records of patients visits
7. Preparing patients for ophthalmic surgeries and treating them during their recovery and follow ups
8. Perform minor procedures
9. Educating patients on treatment of ocular conditions
10. Planning and implementing nursing care intervention based on patient needs
11. Evaluating health care outcomes on patient and clients
12. Any other duty that may be delegated to you by the management
