Who Are We? Meraky Healthcare Limited was established as an importer and distributor as well as a healthcare solutions provider with an aim of improving access to Pharmaceuticals and healthcare products with a particular interest in the specialized field of Oncology within the East Africa region. In Kenya, cancer is the third leading cause of morbidity and mortality after infectious diseases and cardiovascular illnesses. Despite this, it’s only recently that existing hospitals (both public and private) have begun offering cancer treatment as part of their services within the East Africa region. With the growth of centers offering oncology services especially in the last two years, Meraky Healthcare is well placed and strategically positioned to ensure that cancer treatment is done in a standardized manner for both the patient and the healthcare provider. Meraky Healthcare strives to provide solutions that ensure that cancer chemotherapy is executed in the right way: from providing the technical know-how of setting up an oncology facility to supplying the appropriate medications and therapies required. This includes personal protection for all medical personnel handling chemotherapy drugs as well as Cold Chain Installation, handling and management services In addition, Meraky Healthcare is able to offer a full range of Pharmaceutical Products, OTC Products, Lab, Dental and Medical Devices as well as other Healthcare related Services An emerging area of focus within our portfolio is in Clinical Nutrition, with an interest in finding local solutions to manage nutrition in chronic disease and palliative cases Behind Meraky Healthcare are 2 co-founders, Dr. James Njenga (Director) who is a Medical Doctor, a resident Oncologist with vast experience in the field of Oncology and Dr. Wairimu Mbogo a Pharmacist, with a Business specialization and extensive knowledge about the Pharmaceutical sector in the Sub-Sahara Africa region. Dr, Wairimu is also an expert in Regulatory Affairs, Pharmaceutical Supply Chain and Operations. We are currently registered and licensed to trade by the regulator in Kenya, Pharmacy and Poisons Board and are based in a WHO approved warehouse for Good Distribution Practices. Pharmacist/Pharmaceutical Technologist (Retail)

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintains pharmacy inventory by checking pharmaceutical stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed medications and supplies; expediting orders; verifying receipt; removing outdated drugs & preparing ageing reports as often as possible.
  • Maintains a safe and clean environment by complying with company standard operating procedures & government regulation. He/she cleans the floors and damp dust the shelves.
  • Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
  • Organizes medications for dispensing by reading medication orders and prescriptions; preparing labels; calculating quantities; assembling intravenous solutions and other pharmaceutical therapies.
  • Maintains records by recording and filing physicians’ orders and prescriptions.
  • Generates revenues by calculating, recording, and issuing charges as well as issuing cash sale receipts.
  • Ensures medication availability by delivering medications to patients and other clientele.
  • Prepares reports by collecting and summarizing information and sending them on time as required in the standard operating procedures.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Conducting marketing activities together with the team and ensuring individual targets are met/or exceeded.
  • Take responsibility by ensuring that all operations of the shop are running smoothly and reporting any anomalies and breakages.
  • Adhere to the Dangerous Drug Act regulation
  • Ensure standard operating procedures are followed to the letter and timely feedback given
  • Any other duty assigned by the Senior management staff.

  • IT literate. Preferably 2 years’ experience working with Phamacore point of sale system
  • Excellent use of MS Office and Email (MUST).

Qualifications

  • Degree in Pharmacy/ Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology from a reputable institution
  • Pharmacy & Poisons Board certification with license (Attach or indicate Ref. No. for verification)
  • At least one-year experience post internship in a busy retail pharmacy.
  • Competency in using Phamacore point of sale system. The level desirable is at least 2 years’ experience.

 

Medical Sales Representative

Responsibilities

  • Effectively manage the territory by means of planning, territory analysis, targeting and call coverage of customers;
  • Achieve set sales targets and call targets
  • Ensure that activities at all times comply with relevant legislation, ethical standards and company policies;
  • Detail Pharmaceutical products, Medical devices and supplements to healthcare providers and the trade and ensure proper visibility at points of purchase through POS placement;
  • Ensure appropriate stocking of all products in their territory;
  • Provide on-going support to providers to create favourable relationship with the organization;
  • Function as feedback mechanism between the organization and providers/customers;
  • Provide regular report and feedback from providers in a correct complete and timely fashion;
  • Effectively implement set sales and marketing strategies through trainings, and distribution of promotional materials;
  • Work with fellow sales partners/reps to ensure commodity supply is uninterrupted at the pharmacy level;
  • Debt Collection
  • Track and provide weekly reports on territory performance and individual performance.

Qualifications

  • Degree/Diploma in Pharmacy
  • At least 2 years of experience as a Sales Representative
